FREE DSC LEVEL 1 COURSE FOR SITE MEMBERS 2024

Its that time of year when, thanks to the Supporters of this site, we offer 5 places to young or upcoming deer stalkers the chance to take their DSC Level 1 course with the BDS.

This year its at Boughton Estate again, near Kettering, Northants. The dates are 31st May to 2nd June 2024 inclusive.

If you want a chance of winning a free place to take your DSC 1 you need to PM me your full details via PM on this site to be entered. You do not need to be a BDS member.
So required is the following.
Full name.
Address
Email address
FAC number if you have one.
Mobile number.

THIS IS ONLY OPEN TO MEMBERS OF THIS SITE WHO HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR 30 DAYS AND HAVE 30 CONSTRUCTIVE POSTS. IT IS NOT OPEN FOR PEOPLE TO JUST JOIN THE SITE AND THINK THEY CAN HAVE A CHANCE AT WINNING. THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY UNFAIR TO THE LONG STANDING MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS OF THIS SITE.

It is up to each candidate to find local accommodation, if needed. Not BDS or the SD site. If you are chosen to go, you will be expected to pay back this site if you cancel for no good reason.
Those picked will have their details sent to BDS, it is then up to you to contact them to finalise times etc. The SD site will pay for the course.

Can we not have people putting useless posts up on this thread. The chance to have a place on this free course is open to all members on this site who have not taken their DSC1.
Whether they are 17 or 100 years old makes no difference, or whether they have shot no deer or 50. If they are a member of over 30 days and 30 posts the offer is open to all.
If BDS decide someone is not suitable or dangerous on the course they will take the appropriate action.

I benefited from this course six years ago, three years after I retired from work. It kick started a more active involvement in a fascinating recreational pursuit for me. Yes, a wonderful opportunity.

this is something i would love, im 15, have my fac and want to move up to centrefires with avon and somerset giving me a broad word that they'll grant me a .243 as soon as i have done a centrefire safety course and dsc1.
sadly dates align bang in the middle of my gcse's.
something for me to remember for next year.

You've got youth on your side, get your GGCE's behind you and take the rest in your stride. You will get there in due course and be much stronger for the experience

My daughter was a DSC1 beneficiary of this site when she was 14, and it changed her life and launched her career.

What a great offer! Being a complete noob to the site I guess I can’t apply this time? If this is a regular offer I would definitely be interested in future. I only shoot shotguns currently but stalking is something I want to get into for the future.
