The deer are rutting on FB but not SD

I am a member of a couple of forums SD FB etc. On FB there are multiple posts from over the country “ruts started” “bucks charging in” “three to the call” etc etc. On SD not so much. Personally I haven’t been out for a week but on the basis of what I’ve seen I may have a speculative call in some areas that are quite dense and difficult to stalk in the traditional sense. I appreciate there are differences between animals responding to the call and the rut being in full flow (pun intended). It would certainly be quite early by my experience

From experience I can certainly say does are likely to respond to a call in my area (Angus) at this time of year, and they may very well bring an attendant buck with them. I definitely haven't personally seen any actual rutting behaviour yet though

Coming to call in Angus last night

Mildly may I add

This and this but I’m not an expert.

Some chasing isn’t unusual but still seeing does without bucks. If it was close to the main event, I’d expect to see bucks following most of the does close behind

During the whole rut period we will see loads of does on their own as they all don't go at the same time.
Only seen 2 pair rutting so far,15th and 17th and nothing since although not been out that much.

Out last night and shot 5, 3 to the call, I’d say it’s still a bit pre rut here in sussex.

3am out foxing saw a buck chasing a doe quite hard. Oblivious of me standing in the same small field bathed in moonlight.

The reason the FB and SD. Aren’t balanced is because the RF has been OTT and HW in the wrong quarter combine that with EMS and LNS it’s no wonder the bucks are absent time now for ZZZ in preparation for a midday RECCE - JIC
