I built a hunting stand

One of the hunting stands on the shoot had died of old age. It was one of my favorite places to sit. So I decided to build a new one.
I had the plan in my head of what I wanted but I do have a habit of over engineering things I build.
We put it in its approximate position this morning with fine adjustments with the tractor and loader later.

Wood is much cheaper over there. Don't forget the concrete slabs under the feet for drainage though, this is telling you to suck eggs I would think.

The legs are NTR A grade for putting direct on the ground or in water. I reckon that hunting stand will see me out by quite a few year. About a month ago I made 8 duck blinds. Again over engineered but made in NTR AB. They should last 5- 10 years before they need replacing.

Looks perfect 👌🏻

Here's one my mate and I built, reckoned it would last at least ten years then had the ground taken off of us :-(

Yes, good model and very suitable for long hours and for many years.

For boar out in the fields at night I use EAGLES NEST from China, but for the American market, I suppose. The smart thing with the stand is the chair which is turnable 360 °. Boar may now come from any direction but you will get good rifle support regardless.

The stand is semi-heavy or 45 kgs and 2 persons move it easily and 1 person with an open car trailer. The stand came in a box of course (China/shipping) and will take a few hours to fix into a proper stand (comp IKEA). Think I will do some spot welding some day to make it a bit more rigid but it is close to ok now with some kind of extra support. Don't see the need to dismantle the stand, ever. The 2-3 meters above ground enables good shooting support and 'right animal' is easier to choose.
Think I will also use it in winter but then for foxing.
