505 isn’t double stack mag I don’t think.
Since I started this post, I ended up buying a Sako 75 from Ed, managed to pick up a McMillan stock for it, and I’m just in the process of converting the detachable magazine to a floorplate as I’m not that keen on how easily the magazine detaches.
Pondering a Kroseg stock, but very happy with the McMillan for the time being.
See post #28Hopefully after 3 years the OP has found a suitable rifle!
Wasn't it calibre specific? I forget whichI've got a sako 85 and haven't noticed the ejected casing hitting the scope
I've no idea to be honestWasn't it calibre specific? I forget which
If mine performs as I hope I'll be ordering either a Gary Canes Gunstocks: the worlds finest gunstocks, thumb hole or similar from Staffordshire Synthetic Stocks - Laz Style Fixed Comb StockSako 75 - not a fan of the standard synthetic stock, and limited options for aftermarket stocks.
Tikka CTR 7mm08 has detachable double stack mag, lots of aftermarket sticks and chassis.
An old thread but I will also continue it…
I have a SAKO 85 in medium action (.270” WIN), with Optilocks, and a Schmitt and Bender Klassic. The necks are always dinted, but as I don’t reload it really doesn’t fuss me. I much prefer the flush fit double stack magazine and very positive semi-controlled feed.
Is there not a way to reshape the neck or is it weakened?
