Try the flextail or thermacell stuff. I had my thermacell out this summer and it was quite enjoyable watching midges drop dead... Very satisfying...Frankly, NOTHING really stops midges, in my opinion. Napalm maybe!!
Good idea. I have thermacells...have to check about flying with the cartridges.Try the flextail or thermacell stuff. I had my thermacell out this summer and it was quite enjoyable watching midges drop dead... Very satisfying...
Never heard of it, to be honest.Try the flextail or thermacell stuff. I had my thermacell out this summer and it was quite enjoyable watching midges drop dead... Very satisfying...
They actually work really well. I normally use them if I'm spring bear hunting in Canada. I try not to, though, because they do emit an odor. That said, when being eaten alive, it's sometimes worth it.Never heard of it, to be honest.
If I was being eaten alive by a bear, I'd want something a bit stronger than insect repellent......They actually work really well. I normally use them if I'm spring bear hunting in Canada. TINY REPELLER S - 2-in-1 Portable Mosquito Repellent with Lighting
FLEXTAIL TINY REPELLER S 2-in-1 2-in-1 Portable Mosquito Repellent. Highly effective mosquito repellent. Quickly reaches 110¡ãC in only 50 seconds.www.flextail.com
I'd take the battery one over gas as there's far less warm up time. It effectively works by heating a pad that's got some chemical that biting bugs don't like. I had a pile of dead midges last time and there was that many dead, the floor had turned black. The flextail will also work better on the move as they're designed for it
Frankly, NOTHING really stops midges, in my opinion. Napalm maybe!!
Did you go with Winston? What was your experience of Argyll?Joined earlier this year to gather information and lurk. Have enjoyed following many conversations and gathered valuable information. Now it's time for my wife and I to book.
We have settled on Winston Churchill (seems to have a great reputation amongst you all). We would like to get one or two nice stags each and we will be hunting the first week of September. Not sure how many days needed. I was thinking four. Is that a good amount of time?
We will be coming from the US so any other advice is welcome.
Thanks,
Greg
Hello, we did book with Winston, but it won't be until this coming September. Very much looking forward to it.Did you go with Winston? What was your experience of Argyll?

Thanks for the kind words. Absolutely beautiful country and even better people.Congratulations to you and your wife on those two beauties. As you've probably realized, its a tough living in the highlands and most heads don't get that big. Once that land gets in your blood, it doesn't leave. Looking forward to hearing about your next trip. Merry Christmas.
