That's built into the copier. Certain documents are built into the copier's memory and it'll stick text or a funky pattern all over any copies attempted. Sometimes it'll also lock the copier out

Time they digitised it and issued a plastic card like the drivers license. 1-1 variations can be almost immediate, no more paper copies of documents to write/ sign etc and all records can be maintained online. For anyone wanting to check your FAC, a link for sharing can be created valid for 7 or 30 days showing the condition the FAC owner decides to reveal (Eg for stalking, only the calibers used for that purpose needs to be viewed by the land owner as opposed to every rifle held or for buying a new rile, they only need to prove that there is a free slot for that firearm without revealing all the other firearms on the ticket or just the ammunition section if buying ammo.) Home address can also be hidden.
Every transaction (buy or sell) needs to be authorised by two peple, with details of both buyer and seller to complete the transaction and it can happen during the time of transfer. Even an app can be issued which needs a FAC number to register and can be used to view/ validate other certificates for transfers. This can get rid of the entire paper records, documents getting lost in post, a lot of processes that slows everything down and possibly cut costs. Paper records can still be issued to those who want it as an interim but beleive it would go down in numbers pretty fast if the digital service is efficient.
One could only dream and maybe someday it could become a reality.

All colour printers and copiers lay down a pattern of yellow dots in the background specific to that manufacture, model and serial number that the police can scan/read.
Re the funky patterns/copy. If the printer recognises a certain colour paters, ie a bank note, my manufacture will put a black wash over the top.
You must have had the woke paper, I remember when it displayed "FRAUD" , which I always found a bit harsh if you just wanted a copy to carry while out shooting
Yes, I have had to warm customers about those yellow dots before when I've caught them printing dvd covers for the dodgy dvd man.

He'll just ban all firearms, no firearms = no licenses = no paper
You realise most use the guntrader database to store your details so that is exactly what they have, and it was breached…….
