I don’t think anything ticks they all everything is a compromise.I'm looking for something mud and snow rated, doesn't affect fuel consumption too much and not too noisy.
Mud and snow ratings usually indicates the tyres have Sipes cut in them, the sipes clog with mud and snow which grips better to mud and snow than rubber!I don’t think anything ticks they all everything is a compromise.
Whilst BFG will give you 40k miles of wear it is at the expense of mediocre performance. You can buy the cheaper A/T tires, but from experience I've found these to wear out in the 10/20 thousand miles region, General Grabbers lasted me a bit longer but were just utter sh*te off road and would never waste my money on them again. To answer the question, I don't believe you can beat the BFG KO2 for all round use, last 2 sets I had made it well past the 40K mile mark with plenty of tread to spare. Buy once, Cry once.
Only lethal on the tarmac if you’ve got a heavy right footWhilst BFG will give you 40k miles of wear it is at the expense of mediocre performance.
Absolutely lethal on wet tarmac and pretty average in a muddy field.
Better performance available from other premium brand options at a significant saving.
I was driving on a dead straight motorway at approx. 90km/h. Very light snowfall. All of a sudden my truck breaks out and I do three full spins with a lorry coming at me. It was only good fortune that both my truck and I survived this. Anything could have happened. That was on BFG AT‘s. Never again!!!!!Only lethal on the tarmac if you’ve got a heavy right footas are most tyres A/T and M/T. All about your personal experience/preference I suppose.
I was answering the ask of good off-road in mud and snow, no reduction in fuel consumption and low noise there isn't a tyre that ticks all those.Mud and snow ratings usually indicates the tyres have Sipes cut in them, the sipes clog with mud and snow which grips better to mud and snow than rubber!
Very lucky indeed. I imagine you have replaced them with full studded snow tyres then?I was driving on a dead straight motorway at approx. 90km/h. Very light snowfall. Yep! Something I had wanted to do anyway. But then it happened the next day!Very lucky indeed. I imagine you have replaced them with full studded snow tyres then?
Genuinely didn’t experience grip failure in any heavy acceleration or “making progress “.Only lethal on the tarmac if you’ve got a heavy right footas are most tyres A/T and M/T. All about your personal experience/preference I suppose.
Or just run your KO2’s until 50% worn, sell them for £500 and still have your day stalkingIf they opted to trysomething else from Cooper, Yokohama, Toyo, Goodyear or Falken you could get a better performing tyre per £ spent and be able to spend the money you save on a days stalking.
