I am looking at the Michelin Crossclimate 2 SUV to fit my Touareg Escape. It runs 18 255/55 tyres.
Use - 95% plus is on the road and a lot a long distance motorway driving. I want a tyre that is good in wet and snowy type winter. But also good enough on hill road, forestry track type stuff.
I am NOT needing huge great nobbly offroad General Grabber type tyres for mud plugging or hauling trailers full of cows out of a muddy field nor using it to retrieve a stuck quad on the far side of a Scottish bog.
The Crossclimate2 SUV seem to be well reviewed, give plenty of grip when needed and are winter rated. Not as good as a full winter tyre, but technology of the crossclimate2 seems to have improved hugely, so they are not far off in full winter, but much better all round, in particular on fuel and tyre life.
Any body any views before I spend the money.
