Pigeon decoys

I don't know. I have some really old, tired decoys somewhere in the shed and thought it would be worth a try. Maybe someone else has tested them?
I received the jackets today together with the SilloSocks Harvester package and they look really cheap and also a bit shiny (not flocked) . Same material and very similar to the Sillosocks. Colour and form lika a mini Canada Goose. I'm sure the movement attracts birds, but these cardboard decoys and jackets won't last long in the conditions we have here.

Hello, Where did you buy them all from ??

I have found FUDS very effective and as others have said either supplement or replace with dead birds as they are shot. FUDS are easy to carry as they fold almost flat, quick to deploy and take in, hard wearing, colour or flocking doesn’t rub off.

This is a home made pigeon decoy.

I have 2 frozen pigeons on rotary cradles set with their wings out so the white bar shows, no defrosting the night before just out of the freezer on the rotary. 20 Enforcer decoys. If the birds are feeing also you are on the line and take on the birds in the pattern then then it should be fine. If you shoot down the flight line or keep nipping out "fiddling" with the decoys then any incoming birds will hear the shooting or clock you out of the hide.
Will Garfitt said " It is better to be in the right place for 3 hours than 6 in the wrong place"
I friend of mine gave Will first pick of a field and he took 1 1/2 hrs to decide where he wanted to set up, then shot 200 pigeons for 220 shots and never got out of his hide.

Agree entirely. Many a time I have set up in the wrong place and had to move but always worth it.
And got to be still and just let them come in. Experience tells me when the pattern is wrong so needs a modification.
I don't decoy much now but I still go into clinical mode when I do. Aim to shoot a minimum of 1:2 cartridges but better when 1:1.5 or less.
Try to get the kill zone between 20 to 30 yds out and at 10 pm to hide so nice swing.
