medical proforma - Valid for how long?

I'm about to apply for a first FAC

Last time my GP needed to do the proforma for Shotgun renewal it took them over 2 months and lots of chasing
So this time I stuck the proforma in early and thought they could take as long as they wanted while i got some other stuff in place for a strong application

They have just turned it round it 2 days this time!

Which would be great but I have
DSC1 booked in 4 weeks time
2 Bisley days where I should get ticked off for scope/Iron sights and SCC
3 paid/guided beginner stalks lined up in the next month (I have done 1)

I'd like to have all of that completed before the application goes in (or at least very close so by the time they get to look at the form it is done)

I assume a GP proforma that is 5-6 weeks old isnt going to be a problem but anyone know for sure?

not a problem i expected to have

Put the application in now 👍🏻

It'll likely be a long while before your visit/interview, by which time you might have done your DSC and got a couple of those stalks under your belt.

6 months according to my FEO

Ta, answers so far seem in line with my thinking - I'll sit on it for up to 3 weeks then submit
it'll be fresh when they see it but by the time they actually deal with it I'll have ticked off most of the ancillary stuff to support my application

I guess you're in the Met area so I cannot comment on your force area directly.
I know BCH allow a med cert for renewal signed before the renewal date even if the renewal is delayed by 12 months or more.
Also a med cert is valid for the duration of the certificate, apparently. My last RFD renewal was 18 months after my FAC renewal and I was told the med cert for the earlier FAC renewal would still be valid, and I didn't have to get another one - makes sense if the doctors have a marker on my note then any adverse changes to my health would automatically be notified to the FLD (if only the system worked so well).

I don't think you can pre-empt the FLD's delays and delay a med form, they might just throw out the application if the med form is not accompanying the paperwork. As each FLD seems to be a law unto themselves it might be worth asking them, but with everything you have booked I'd be tempted to just apply now as soon as all the forms are complete.
