4X4 Tyres

Afternoon all,

I have a 2010 Kia Sportage that I use for stalking and general use. Most of the ground has semi hardcore tracks, but often drive around the field margins for extractions during the drier months.
I currently have General Tyre Grabber AT3s on the front, and am about to change the rear set as still on road slicks.
Pulled into a muddy gateway couple of weeks ago when it was wet, and even with diff lock was struggling to pull out over the wet grass, so having second thoughts about putting grabbers on the back as well.
When i put the grabbers on, i did look at G015 and Wildpeaks, but wasn't happy with the tread pattern and depth for what i needed them for.

Have had a look around and seen some more aggressive AT tyres and wondered if people had any experience of them, good or bad?

I’ve got comforsers on my Navarro , had bf Goodrich for years but prices have gone up so much lately I had to look round , the comforsers are a direct copy but a lot cheaper , done around 10,000miles now and I’ve no complaints , not noisy and wearing well

I've got Falcon Wildpeake AT's on my Discovery and find them quite reasonable.

Got some radar renegade rt to replace general grabbers, cheaper, better off road and similar on road.
Pleased with them so far but only been on for about 1000 miles.

I have Maxus Worm Drives on one set of rims the others are a std road tyres on a second set of rims which will be going back on the D-Max very shortly. No point in scrubbing good tread away on tarmac.

Thanks for all the help so far, been doing a bit more digging and have unearthed insa Turbo Rangers as another option.

I’ve also got maxxis worm drives and find them longer lasting than bf Goodrich

Geolanders AT or if you want a bit more aggressive tread MTs.
That's what's going on the rears of my Vitara when the Events wear out which sadly are no longer available in UK.

Mate had some on a defender , pleased with them at first but he thought they wore too quickly , bit noisy on road , dont quote me bit I think the ones range are mostly remoulds so I guess that’s why they are cheaper and probably only as good as the donor carcass ?

yeah they are all remoulds. Thanks for the advice though, much appreciated!

Been using Insa Turbo Rangers on my 110 for about 15 years.
They last 25-30k miles, don't slide about on wet roads at reasonable speeds and are half the price of BFG's.
I have no complaints about them.

I've just put a set on mine, just couldn't pay 3 times the money gor another set of BFGs. Hopefully it's not a false economy. They seem OK so far but only done 500 miles on them.

Never had an issue with General Grabber AT3’s. Off-road fairly horrendously 3-4 times a week in the ranger and they work most of the time. Probably 250k of road miles as well now on 3 wagons. Generally drop about 10% on the mpg.
