You can believe what you want, but in the AR system (or probly any high pressure centerfire semi/full auto) there is no residual pressure when the bolt unlocks. Yes there might be PSI or two, based on gas inertia and exit pattern in the barrel, but nothing to speak of or aid in extraction. If there was, it would not help but hinder the unlocking and extraction. In addition to shoving all the lubrication and crud inside the action back at your face and/or mag / any other escape route. There will be residual pressure in the barrel during unlocking as the gas is bled off for the BCG before the muzzle.
The gas take off is positioned so residual aids extraction instead of solely relying on the BCG and it's tiny extractor acting on a tiny brass rim.
I think you just contradicted yourself there. You can believe what you want, but in the AR system (or probly any high pressure centerfire semi/full auto) there is no residual pressure when the bolt unlocks. Some ill designed firearms, like blowback 9mm AR (depending on barrel length, bolt/carrier/buffer mass and ammunition) can bleed some of the gas from chamber end but that's the gas inertia at work. And properly designed blowback rifle/ammo system won't do it. You can directly see from brass whether it's clean or sooted. Same for non-flowthrough moderators on AR, the brass will get sooted but it's the gas trapped by mod and no pressure to speak off.
Perfectly feasible. As long as you're happy to be treated as a pariahWhat’s the feasibility of using straight pull AR type rifle for stalking, specifically in 6.5CM (custom build of some sort)
He broke the UK law then? On his visitors cert application, perhaps he did not mention that it was a semi auto and the FEO was non the wiser. All's well that ends well.
I am sure he meant no offence officer.
His Visitor Permit had the details of the rifle and it was inspected at the airport, he was told all good.
Similar story up here. i have a guy in my club who has some kind of SIG in 5.56 and stockpiles ammo and canned food in little compounds around the area. Bit of a weird one, loner, keeps to himself. Brings the rifle to roe deer hunts with great results. If you share eastern border with Russia, AR in the gun safe is quite normal. Not the best for beaver, however every rifle must get some field use.
