As long as you can understand what it is showing you. Not everyone can make sense of what they see through a borescope. Me for example

Plenty of decent Sako and tikka 270s out there. Many stalkers buy a rifle and shoot a few deer a year. Such rifles may have shot 200 rounds at most.
Look for higher grade ones in the first place. Have a good look at overall condition. Wear on bluing and stock finish are signs of lots of carrying. I would avoid ones that have been fettled - ie bedded, barrel chopped etc etc. these will probably have been owned by some one who is constantly tinkering and shooting.
What you are really looking for is a rifle that has been owned by a Gentleman stalker and used for one trip to Scotland a year for a few years and then its sat as he has got older.
I would avoid the cheaper stainless synthetic ones. They tend to be bought and used as working rifles by professionals.
With a new rifle you will have warranty and know that it is new. It may be a bit more expensive than a 2nd hand rifle, but 2nd hand rifles can cause a lot of grief.

I found a 24" t3x .270 stainless varmint, second hand that had done nothing, not even a box of bullets, literally as new and immaculate and less than half price of a new one!

I have had a couple PMs on this subject, but rather than writing a private reply I will put an open post.
Fundamentally to tell if a rifle is any good for you is to have a look at it in the flesh. Pictures give you an idea, but really really do not tell the full story.
A rifle is a very personal thing, and really do take your time finding the correct one for you. It’s a ball ache getting a variation if its not correct.
And please do look in your own local shops. You might save a few quid buying something from the other end of the country, but you then whinge about RFD fees and then the rifle is not what it was advertised as and you have all the costs of sending it back. Much much better to go and see something in the flesh and put together a package of a rifle, mounts snd optics that works for you. They might even have a range on which the whole setup can be tested etc.
I bought my first rifle in 1996 - I went to a good gunshop that I knew well. I was looking at a Ruger No1 - they are so much better in the pictures - but in the flesh it didn’t work for me. On the rack they had a left handed 243 Heym SR20, complete a Zeiss 4x32 scope. Can I shoot it? Yes - and they invited me to the west london shooting school range when they were testing a whole load of rifles. They put five shots into a tiny little group at 100m. In other words - this rifle shoots. I then put another 10 down range - groups not as good, but that was me.
That rifle is still in my cabinet. I have rezeroed it about five times - 4 when I changed scopes, and once when I have changed ammo. It clover leafs when I do my bit. I have several hundred rounds through it, and it will outlast me.
I did once buy a rifle at distance. It was another SR20 in 7x57. I had it sent to friendly RFD who also has a farm. When it arrived I could instantly see from the state of the screws that it had been buggered. Somebody had glass bedded it with with what looked like plastic padding, and had done an appalling job - including go around the edge of the bedding with brown paint so that you couldn’t see it in the photos. They had also put a lump of filler and moulded a large bolt handle. We sent it straight back. The vendor did refund me but I was £50 out in postage and fees.

No, most.270’s will have been used for stalking, not at the range,

I have an Abolt in .270 that I bought used in 2013. I've probably put around 500 sounds through it since then, it's never had a deep clean, and it's still my go-to rifle
