I did say several weeks about that the carcass value of Reds and Fallow would be worthless come the end of March.
But some others including Outfitters/Guides still want to charge you a fee to take your Deer home after a paid stalk??🤔

Normal practice towards end of hind season for prices to drop

My local dealer stops taken them in about a week or two before the end

Better that than dropping prices

Moral is don’t feck about - get on your grounds, do your job and kill the deer early
Quite, when I mentioned that about the fallow does the "managers" are the type of people who turn up at the airport with no passport as they started packing too late.

Figure was from 2 weeks ago. Not sure what roe are?
Roe are currently £1.50/KG collected.
50% reduction for saddle shot
35% 1 haunch (2 haunch rejected)
Shoulder shot (1) 10% reduction
Shoulder shot (2) 20% reduction

They pay a month in arrears and I have found them to be a reliable company to deal with.

I just copied the details off the collection sheet I had to hand.

I can only take it that some folk have submitted haunch damaged carcasses in the past?

Personally I am always minded that it is my name attached to the carcass tag and make sure I present the cleanest and tidiest carcass I can.

Even seeing stuff that hasn’t had the legs removed at the flat joint drives me crazy, if I saw something that was haunch damaged I’d probably lose my mind!

Why some people choose to use a game dealer as a dumping ground for average quality deer carcasses is beyond me.

Take your time at every step of the process and take a bit of pride producing the premium product wild venison can be.

I had them collect a good few carcasses last year, ALL were head/neck shot. Later got money knocked off because 2 were shot through the saddle!!
No way on earth they were!!

To be fair, sometimes you don't see the extent of the damage until the skin comes off:

(Not my carcass, btw. Someone asked me to butcher 7 sika for him. In his opinion they were all reasonably tidily shot. My opinion was somewhat different from his!)

You don't get something like that from a head /neck shot though do you?
