Good afternoon all, just wondering if any of you have a rifle made by Lawrence precision? I had a sound moderator made a couple of years ago and and was very impressed with the quality and Simon's knowledge. Just wondering what your thoughts are..

I havent - but as you i have a mod and i was very impressed when i went to meet him

I was an unimpressed with advertised weights versus what was actually produced so returned my mod unfired. I am sure build quality would have been fine but if what you are paying for is a premium cost for a ultralight (but strong) material if it comes in the same weight as a product as effective then what’s the point

Thanks for your reply's.. though I was hoping for some more positive! but that's great and I will look at something else. I currently have a sako 85 with a LP mod on it, and to be honest I can't fault it although I haven't weighed it. I will now consider something else👍

I have an LP titanium rifle. The best I can make it shoot is 2 MOA and it is prone to regular misfires. Consequently in around 5 years, I’ve never taken it stalking.
Are they not sold with any kind of accuracy guarantee or factory shot target like almost every other manufacturer or rifle builder?

Feel I have to add to this even though it's an old thread.
I have a Simon Lawrence rifle in .243, though it's stainless rather than titanium. The action and bolt are all custom billet machined, not sure on barrel brand (I did know), but it's good.
The rifle was made to fire 70gr rounds. It sends 75gr nicely enough, but doesn't like 100s, 58s or 55s. I have a 70gr Nosler ballistic tip load using Stoball 6.5 that groups about 1/3". If I could get Varget it would give one ragged hole.. It did spread lightweight (under 60gr) rounds at least 2 inches - but it didn't claim not to.
The finish is exquisite, short lock time, lovely feel, gorgeous bolt movement, real 'breaking glass' trigger, and a lovely shotgun-style safety. It's bagged me plenty of golden jackals at good ranges and I wouldn't swap it for anything.
Just had to comment after reading this thread.

Ben. The chap at Belvoir castle is a miserable sod but a good engineer. He'll thread and recrown your rifle. He did my sako a few years back. His name's mark at Rowland Watson gunsmiths

I have one of his mods in .30 cal.
I use it on .300 WM, .308 and 6.5x55.
No issues with it at all.
Yes it’s certainly heavier than the F&D models I handled at the Stalking Show, but it’s still doing the job 10 years down the line.
I have no experience of anything else he’s offering, and due to personal issues wouldn’t want to.

Would you recommend him to one of your friends?
