Hi All,

Just been sent this from Lapua, looks like an improved version of the Naturalis which has proved effective but very low BC.

Hopefully to be seen in the UK soon, will be interesting to see how they perform!

Looks to be more of the same old slow expansion high weight retention monolithic bullet design. Fair enough that they want their own version of it but it would be nice to see more of a push into the partial fragmenting designs from the big manufacturers. Not everyone is after 100% weight retention

AGHE's and Processors are
They dont want any metal left in the carcase, regardless if it is easier to remove or less pervasive than lead.

My AGHE isn’t bothered at all, and is much more concerned about people pinning deer through the shoulders in order to get hard monolithics to kill well. He docks 15% per shoulder hit, and has never complained about fragments from bullets. This isn’t a small AGHE, it’s the largest in this area of the country. Also, if you want 100 % weight retention then simply choose one of the numerous brands offering this choice, but not everyone does want this and there is very little out there for these people.

I fail to see what this does different than Barnes, Sako, norma and all the other expanding monolith offerings...

The expansion table pictures looks almost exactly as their naturalis bullet...

Its the way we like it in the north.

Yes but its Lapua ,they can load their own tipped bullet.

Is it just a Barnes TTSX bullet.
It looks like it at first but I note that tTSX do break open at the tip even at very slow impacts , just little petals too small a diameter to matter . I can get pictures from my spent bullet box . The one low speed one in the Lapua pictures it has rolled open - no splitting open petals .
I have yet to see a clean roll over as shown on any tTSX. its always rolled over with splitting into the blades so far even them real low speed impacts , Just saying - its an oddity in my experience

The ones who want weight retention are the ones who want a presentable carcass, all the bullets I’ve seen that dont hold the weight make an almighty mess and I’ve seen more than a few

There are plenty of options these days, with different bullets of different hardness levels for different beasties. There is a lit shite spouted about different bullets exploding or just not expanding. Mostly this will be wrong choice of bullet in the wrong place.

Personally I have a lot of faith in the Fox bullets. They are designed for European game rather tough African or North American critters.

Every cartridge and bullet manufacturer wants the hunters £, and thus offer multiple different options. With Lapua they have the Naturalis they have a good copper bullet, but is rounded / flat nose which will work perfectly well out to normal hunting ranges, but I suspect many will whine about its poor BC etc etc etc.

Hence introducing a new bullet the TRX with a long sleek and pointing high BC design over which those who get exited by these sorts of things can start drooling so Lapua can sell their cartridges and bullets rather than such hunters go off to other brands.

Lapua naturalis are f@#king EPIC
Barnes ttsx are excellent
Fox are very good

All the others I’ve not tried for a reason, the reason is I’ve seen the mess they make!

Am I going to try this new offering ?

No I’m not, im using lead at the moment, got a heap of barnes too and if I use that I’ll get a heap of Lapua naturalis to play with 👌

Your thinking too much they’ll work 👌

That’s odd seeing as some folk on here claim copper kills better than lead 🤔
