Is booking a 3 person guided stalk possible ?

Thanks for the responces it does make sense that 3 people + guide stalking wouldnt be very quiet but do any stalkers advertised on here let multiple groups of people book and then go to different areas?
I can, but it would be a 1x2 and a1x1 .

Hi, i'm new to hunting and me and 2 friends of mine were interested in going on a guided stalk for probably muntjac sometime soon for our first hunt and I was just wondering if a 3 person group is ever done or would 2 seperate groups be better?
Thanks
Do you mean all 3 armed and intending to shoot?

Or one gun and 2 along for the experience?

The former - nightmare. I doubt anyone would do it, unless in high seats. Insanely dangerous.

The latter - happens all the time. It does reduce chances, but it’s a fun experience for all.

This is the problem with lots of posts, there is never enough detail which in turn leads to many different replies as all of us view it differently.
Only a guess but I would "guess" the 3 request would be 1 shooting 2 watching and swapping over as the stalk went along, which will not work, (unless on a big Norfolk estate awash with muntjac) how do you find someone the answer with such an open request!

Leaving people in high seats with little or no experience is asking for trouble in my opinion. If they are using the estate rifle its a definite NO.
I have heard of people doing it, but you are breaking the law and most likely will loose your FAC.

If you are new to hunting, why not go on a simulated stalk? That way the whole group can go out and not worry about noise or movement

"Multiple groups of people going to different areas." seems pretty clear to me.
2 or 3 guides with a max of 2 people per guide, does not seem out of the ordinairy. 1 on 1 might be the most effective, but seeing each others experiences is also valuable and that is achievable with 2 guides, like Malcolm suggested.
That is something most guides will likely be able to arrange, so just inform with a guide/guides on here.

It is possible but would depend if your friends have their own rifles and could be left in a high seat or would need to borrow one and be "supervised" as such. Still possible but would need more paid stalkers to be with each of them.

The MO was this
Hi, i'm new to hunting and me and 2 friends of mine were interested in going on a guided stalk for probably muntjac sometime soon for our first hunt

It is clear to me the info given flags up the people will need much more than a guided stalk or an armed walk.

As I posted earlier people will read into what they think hence my post being a crusty old country boy who still has all his fingers toes and all the other bits by watching how even experienced peoples safety is poor let alone a person for the first time.

People walk across the road/along the pavement looking at their phone (the norm these days)

It is not like a scuba lesson in the pool on holiday

Just get a good guide/guides.............

What guides have you use here for your stalking or holland ?
What Is the relevance of that exactly? You have no arguments and try to find something to evade factual discussion?

A good guide will judge the people he takes, will asses whether they are serious, capable and have the right mindset to take things serious and keep things safe.
If any doubt after the first call, later contact or when at the start of a stalk he will not continue. Also, when no experience with riffles, first to the range to teach and asses and only then in the field. If necessary, just go out 1:1 and/or on something a bit less demanding than muntjac....

So again for the OP; just get a couple of good guides so you can have a nice and safe first experience, many have gone before.

The relevance is speaking from 52 years of shooting in the garden as a nipper progressing to shooting on farms time at rifle clubs, clay clubs
taking farmers sons out for their first couple of pigeons then progressing to bags of 250 +
For their first fox then first deer
Taking people stalking for fallow/muntjac/foxes
Last guest was @ColinBr x4 muntjac.
Running a pheasant shoot
Beating on shoots being swept by loades guns
Scoring on clay shoots with people turning around in the cage with a loaded gun to ask their mate for more cartridges
Watching people load a shotgun before getting in the cage as I was scoring
And so on,

Having experienced that and more to come no doubt lol I still think there was too little info given in the first post.

Again nothing of any relevance. Not going to repeat myself.

OP; do not let people like this get you down, just ignore the banter and find some nicer guys to guide you. You allready have a fair offer above from somebody with a lot of experience.

I personally would not entertain 3-1 guide, it reduces your chances of success vastly, 2-1 is doable but again I’m not a lover of its 1–1 is the way to go, then you have a fair chance of a beast if you have a good guide who knows what he/she is doing.

I say good guide simply because there are so many crooks out there, for every good there is 2-4 bad in the stalking world.

So you are swerving the question of stalking experience lol my comments are factual from experience.

Again not relevant.
I am not looking for banter. I am just trying to help somebody get started instead of putting him off, so if (probably when...) you continu this annoying behaviour I wil put you on ignore. Do not need negative people in my life, way bigger problems to worrie about....

It’s up to the stalker/guide that takes you out. Totally doable depending on the ground. Ask the place you want to go out in but I don’t see the issue.

Exactly that depending on the ground!

But in my 20 odd years of guiding I wouldn’t do it regardless, simply because I want the best chance of the client to be successful.

Again not relevant.

Fine by me, step up and recommend the lads a guide, my vote is for Malcolm.
Which as he posted 2+1 then a 1-1
