Interested in the £100 set ups, scales and what calibres.
I can see it being done for £200, for £100 you’re compromising on kit.

None of the deer/ pigs/ Moose and Reindeer that have been shot noticed that the kit was compromised ,how could they be more dead by spending an extra £100?
Generally speed, some of us do more than shoot game and appreciate a decent set of scales that settle quickly etc.
Yes you can get a basic set up for that money but it is very, very basic. Spend a little more, get decent scales, a manual trickler and some £10 loading blocks and all gets a bit easier and more efficient.

Most bullets, powder, primers and powder all habe to be imported from either the US or Europe.
There is a little war going on where they are using as much ammo in a few minutes as most of us on SD combined will shoot in a year.
We have also removed ourselves from all the major free trade areas. Supposedly we are tarriff free, but HMRC still charge processing fees on all goods coming through, together with storage fees if goods take a few months to clear. Most now use an import clearing agent even from mainland Europe and that costs a few percentage points.
Then you have to add on the costs of money. Funds are tied up for several months whilst goods are in transit. Typical Trade finance runs at about 2% per month.
Solutions - rather than whining about the cost
1) get your MPs to push government to get back into proper single markets
2) stop the Ukrainian war
3) set up UK production.
4) use your bullets wisely. Use a bullet that maximises meat yeald and process your own venison and barter it with friends and family.
5) if you have larger amounts then collaborate with other stalkers and set up your own marketing. A haunch of Roe is selling for £40 to £50 in local butchers in Edinburgh
