Fishing without a license

Looks like the foreign secretary has been found to be fishing without a license. I know if it was me then I’d be fined.

I can't believe that a member of His Majesty's Government would possibly think that there were two tiers of rules, one they enforce on everyone else, and where one they can ignore them.....oh wait....

Or he could just have travelled up here with "JD" and fished without the need for a licence......maybe a permit if needed, but no rod licence needed!

I do wonder what his "advisors" and hand bag carriers were doing to avoid such mishaps? It'll be interesting to see if the EA institute any proceedings of course:norty:

Part of me is glad he is fishing and it’s at least a country sport.

But it is the precedent it sets if you get caught and double standards if he doesn’t get fined.

To me it shows very very clearly that none of his advisors have any idea of "country sports" elsewise at least one of them would indeed have said that a licence was needed and could be done online it less time than it has taken me to read and reply to this thread. That to me is actually the most shocking. Although I will admit that when I owned my own pond situated on my own land I also never bought a licence when I fished it. Assuming that if you are the occupier or owner of the land on which the pond (not river) is to be found that you didn't need one. So I can excuse that it may have been a misunderstanding on the same train of reasoning. After all...my land, my pond, AND my fish. So what business is it of the EA?

Finally something humanizing. Come on now....how many of you have fished without a rod license at some point? I know I have. 😈

Scott

Not me, i fished competitively for over 30 years and never failed to buy a rod licence, i don’t know of anyone that has been caught without a licence that hasn’t been done.
If Lammy gets away with without copping a fine then it just shows how one rule for one and one rule for another works.
