Introduction - Ben Manning, Forest Manger South East England

Hello,

I am the Forest Manager for Hatfield Park Estate in south Hertfordshire, Hardwick Estate in south Oxfordshire and I also manage a number of smaller woodlands in Oxfordshire for separate clients.

I specialise in Irregular Continuous Cover Forestry, which is the practice of managing woodland without clear-felling with the aim of developing structurally diverse woodlands with a mix of tree species at different ages throughout the stand. Promoting natural tree regeneration is a key part of this type of management and so long term and effective deer control is essential.

I have made a profile on this site to advertise some exciting new stalking opportunities in woodland I manage. These will be paid positions on a contractor basis.

I am not a shooting or stalking expert, although I have some experience and have certainly dragged my fair share of carcasses off the hill, but I will try my best to reach the 30 relevant posts required to advertise.
