Out last night.

What a bummer tonight - amateur hour !

Shot at an easy fox that the birds had been telling me was about - 80 yards - broadside - miss
Reload - miss
How ? Why ? - hmmm my reticule is different - hmmm whats that C in the bottom corner - bummer wrong profile on the scope !!!!
Oh dear 😳

I said something like that ! Even worse one of my pals was in another spot - usually i just send them the video and laugh - tonight it was like - mate did you shoot ........ twice ? - I was like yes f@?@?@k i did
I bet the air was blue , never mind , get it next time 👍

I went back looking for these two that I knew were in the area.
Fist off I had to dodge 5 night time runners with powerful head torches. They walked, given up running 🙄 but never spotted me just stood still quietly.
Anyway I walked past my bait for half an hour and then returned slowly to happen on a dog and vixen getting frisky!
She was as it happens in season.
I now expect to find a vixen or two in season every October and November!

The dog was first and notices something, probably the red ir glow because Sunday morning I lit him up with a red torch.

The vixen buggers off but wasn't long returning.

The dog was a whopper, nice pair, I felt sad for a moment but slapped myself with reality! The reality that this ground now has meadow pipets but didn't last year and is also bursting with pheasants from a local shoot looking for some peace because the local keeper wouldn't know what vermin control is even if you snapped a fen on his privates!

Had you swapped the scope on different rifles?

Fine looking fox Sd.

Ken.

Nos 43 & 44 last night. Possibly the easiest and fastest 1st fox last night.

Out of house, walk 20 yards to shed, turn on light and put wellies on, turn off light, exit shed, load rifle, walk towards bottom field to put caller out, WTF is that by the gat...fox looking at me 15 yards away, backtrack and wait for fox to come out between gates, sheep come running down field towards feeder, fox pops out, quick Oi, fox shot at about 20 yards...less then 1 minute  Pretty well unzipped her with the creed.

Decided to put the caller out anyway and spotted a fox about 400 yards to my right but not interested in any amount of calling. Decided to have a brisk walk and see if the fox was still there. Managed another challenging shot at about 60 yards ...dont want to push the creed to much on the foxes as only running 120 grn copper so trying to limit the range to sub 100

Saw another couple but just couldnt get a safe or clear shot so called it a night.

Well done , what a beautiful spot ❤️

Love to live somewhere like that.
🥰 has its downsides ...1/2 hour round trip for milk, dont bother with home delivery as they never find us, only mains is elec, internet expensive, constant repairs and maintenance , mortgage makes me cry every month and no deer within 1/2 hour drive ...but wouldnt change it (not for the moment) 👍

LOL...no chance I could afford it...our place was cheap as its in the arse end of the back of beyond + 6 years of renovation...move it to where theres deer and there would be a 1 in font of the price that is well beyond my budget (unfortunately). That's why a load of my deer exploits take place in Devon. :) 👍

You need an old couple living in a nice static on there for little rent!
