Red stag head - medal class?

View attachment 448365Size 9 boots for reference- I have a feeling it might be medal quality but not having seen many in real life unsure. Sadly I didn’t shoot it!
Great mount. Just got my first one measured at the weekend. When I boiled it out first I was told if it was around the 5 to 5.5kg mark it was a strong indicator of being a medal. Most of the points come from length and thickness of the upper and lower beams.

Much will depend on whether it is a Scottish or English stag as they have very different scoring levels.

A descendant of the ‘Pirate’ or the ‘Mugger’ ?
- looks short in the beam length, and a wee bit in the younger side judging by the pedicle length;

I think it’ll be an Irish stag?

It looks a bit short. Best thing to do is get it measured, if it doesn't medal you don't have to pay anything.
