Red stag head - medal class?

Size 9 boots for reference- I have a feeling it might be medal quality but not having seen many in real life unsure. Sadly I didn’t shoot it!

Great mount. Just got my first one measured at the weekend. When I boiled it out first I was told if it was around the 5 to 5.5kg mark it was a strong indicator of being a medal. Most of the points come from length and thickness of the upper and lower beams.

Much will depend on whether it is a Scottish or English stag as they have very different scoring levels.

It looks a bit short. Best thing to do is get it measured, if it doesn't medal you don't have to pay anything.

Jeezz, those names take me back a few years….
A lot of the red deer in the west of Ireland are ex farm stock with Warnham blood.
They do very well once they stay away from the roads

From looking its too short but still an unusual head . Only way to know though is to get it to a Qualified person ay one of the shows

It's a nice head, regardless of whether it qualifies as a "medal".
I'd stick it on the wall.
