Most add mitt thinking that way my self time to weigh up which is more cost effective.Time to anneal or scrap the rest
Hi Fosbery Holster so you just do it with the bottle and pliers sayThe inside and outside chamfer on your case neck seems a little excessive, l wonder if this has contributed to the problem you’re experiencing ?
Annealing your brass could help resolve the issue, l anneal after every fireing and can’t remember how many times I’ve reloaded my brass. I use a hand held torch to anneal and it doesn’t take that much effort.
Check the rest of your brass for such defects.
Go steady on the chamfering.

Hi hairlesshunter,Hi Fosbery Holster so you just do it with the bottle and pliers say
How long for each on average 10 seconds or so
If so probably a lot cheaper than renewing the brass every 3 fires
I clean first to remove any residue from around the neck which could result in hotspots when I anneal.Just one question do we anneal after depriming and before wet tumbling or after wet tumbling
Cheers

That chamfering really is a bit ‘excessive’ to say the least. You should be looking for a nice clean even cut on the inside & just the slightest ‘kiss’ on the outside to remove the burr that develops when you trim to length.Bit of case prep this morning and this little bugger got to stage 3
Depriming
Cleaning
And case prep luckily spotted it before it got to the next stage
First one I have had and this is the third time reloading
I believe @Stalker62 got a bit fed up going to his local only to find that instead of the usual good natured banter & the opportunity to chat about mutually beneficial topics, not to mention a few tales of daring do, he found the bar was full of loud & uncouth yobs singing football songs, yelling at the ref on the big screen telly & drinking far too much lager before starting the inevitable slanging matches with each other… & so has decided to stop at home in front of a nice fire with a dram in his hand & dogs at his feet. Whilst I genuinely miss his contributions, & can’t say I blame him, I think the SD is a lesser place without him & I’d be at the front of the queue to buy him a drink if he walked back through the bar doorSorry to digress slightly from the original post……..but what has happened to @Stalker1962 ??

I agree but the reason behind it was that it fell wrong when I first startedThat chamfering really is a bit ‘excessive’ to say the least. I was with you until I purchased a 6mm PPC that came with a limited supply of the previous Owner's brass. Couldn't get meaningful neck tension (using several increments of bushing) until Stalker62 kindly annealed them on his funky AMP machine and supplied the code for future treatments.Hmmm.
My name is Foxyboy and I have never annealed (pause for collective SD massive gasp and reviving of several elderly types who have fainted..).
I have reloaded for thirty plus years in everything from .222 through to 8mm plus a few chamberings which are no longer legal the other side of the Irish Sea - never have I felt the need to anneal - even for range shooting nor have I encountered a round which didn’t go bang when required or resulted in a PoI different from the others.
Yes on occasion some brass has been “stiffer” than others (usually detected when trimming is required) so have I just been lucky - or wot? Of course I do crimp (more swooning).
Class discuss….
