Good going on the foxes. I saw the Northern Lights as well but nowhere near as impressive as your pics.
However ... must try harder and take pics of the foxes ... no evidence = no fox
Text from farmer saying not many fox about, but inundated with rats!
Popped round for a frustrating hour last night, managed six but had to pass on many that were in among the calves in a shed. Turning cold again here. Forecast chucking it down tonight, so fingers crossed for wednesday/Thursday.
Was hoping for a bumper night, but really does not look like there are that many there.

Tried for a fox for a couple of hours last night. Walked quietly to a field that has sheep in as I do like to keep an eye on fields with stock in for a fox. Sure enough there’s one there, unfortunately spotted me first and headed away towards the hedge. A lip squeak stopped it and presented a shot, however my subsequent effort was appalling! Knew I was low when I took the shot, the fox just turned round and trotted away across the field. A**e. Saw another one 5 minutes later but it was only interested in tracking what I assume was a vixen across the field towards the road. No shot offered because of the background, a house and the road. Probably have missed the b****y thing anyway! Not an auspicious start to the new year.

I did it a couple of years ago.
So far in 2026 , 6 shots = 4 roe and 2 foxes but a long way to go yet. Fingers crossed

If I go for an unbroken streak this year there will be some very happy foxes! Haven’t missed my first deer of the year yet though!Everyone misses that is a fact but Im trying for 100% this year just for a challenge.

I havent missed with the rifle yet so 1 fallow and 4 foxes...it will all be down hill from here...thats an absolute guarantee

Get ready for a display of pathetic shooting ...last time I shot at a pheasant on a driven shoot was probably 15 years ago and I dont recall that being great
