Fed up to hear: NO! I ALREADY HAVE SOME ONE!

All, again thanks for all the advice!
Every time I asked I was polite and did take into account a good number of points mentioned here; Some even told me they will get back to me if things change but no calls yet… I handed my work business card to a few and mentioned I do have BASC insurance. I think I need to add other points mentioned here to my approach and try again and again. If I ever get permission I will write a quick post and reference this post as I think a lot of good tips are mentioned on this post for people in same position as me.

I think the Insurance with Countryside Alliance Membership would probably improve your chances, but again this can depend on the farmer, they don't all agree about everything all the time!

hi,

I once went to a farm where the fields where full of geese i knocked the door only to get told that he had a guy who did a good job,,,, eh what about the 1000s of geese out there. He deferred his answer ?? **** lol

paul,

a big big one ---- always address the farmer as hello SIR --------- not hello MATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1
or even, hello Mr 'name'
easy enough to find out by taking the local phone book with you, or google on phone etc. and it shows you have made the effort to at least find out his name.
Good luck buddy

As adviced here, spoke to a local driven shoot which I shot a couple of times in the past to join the beaters and the manager agreed!

I guess I`m a step closer now. :)

It has taken me the best part of 20 years to have both fox, and deer land. Knocking on doors and cold calling in my experience seldom works, unless you are willing to buy the stalking rights for money. You need to get on some local shoots and do a few years of beetling get to know, and offer to help the keepers. And I have to say that you really need to have the land first and then get the rifle. Good luck don't give up.
