Exactly, if your using a flat shooting .22-250 zeroed at 150yds which will cover you to 300yds, then why do you need a ballistic turret if not to take longer shots

I would and do take longer range shots at foxes than deer.
But, I would not shoot if I did not feel confident of killing it. Mainly because a miss means it would be harder to catch up with next time.
When you have had foxes cause thousands of pounds worth of damage it may change your view of them.
This is all getting a bit Off topic.
The only problem with my current scope is that the cross hairs are a bit thick for paper punching.
So if/when I bite the bullet it sounds like the swaro would be ideal.

one instance would be if you use a 58gr vmax on foxes and then a heavier soft point on deer and hey presto the turrets will often let you set for two zeroes. the other would be if you want to use your heavier deer bullets for foxing then having them set for 100 200 and 300 yards means you can adjust very easily depending on quarry. They are a bit gimmicky and I can't work out whether to have them retro fitted to mine as I do like the simplicity at the moment but I just have 3 clicks down between the two bullets and zeros I use which is no real issue
you won't regret it Nick they are cracking scopes but I'd definitely go illuminated BT wise I'm still undecided and haven't yet

I had a s&b pmii,the muts nuts on the range and very capable for stalking but i chopped it in for a Swaro Z6i 2.5-15x56 BT,far better for my sport of mainly stalking and occasional range work......

Ah,then you will be needing a scope with BT and if it has a fine ret like a swaro z6 you will need an Ill ret also.............
I put a 5-30 x 50 z6 (bt) on my .220swift, good little scope, the bt is only used when im out firing at targets/rabbits on a summers evening, ive never used while out lamping, I did regret not buying the illuminated ret tho, as the cross hairs is very fine and struggle at very last light,

If that is the case then I suggest you will be very disapointed with the Swarovski you mention as the minimum parralex setting will be less than ideal unless everyting you shoot is past 60 yards.
Just my view of course.

The poor man needs to understand the madness that has gripped him! Imagine hacking in a quality scope with the best glass available for, well, something different. Our poor victim here has either lost his mind or come under the evil influence of the magazine adverts of doom. He'll spend the rest of his life spinning out of control into the black hole of worse and worse glass and bigger and bigger colour full page adverts
Bought a Leupold 'scope with illumination once with the intention of getting an advantage over the donkeys in the magic 'hour before' on those overcast winter mornings on the downs when you can't see the black cross hair against the dark outline of the deer 70 yards in front of you - used it once, couldn't see past the damned thing even on minimum illumination, swapped it for a mil dot with very heavy outer posts which allow me to bracket the target nicely and allows good 'area aim' shot placement. Never use it in the evening though so as not to be tempted by a late shot.
Conversely, I have a Zeiss with #63 illuminated mil dot ret and that is a completely different 'scope, it just has to be seen to be believed, great light collection and transmission coupled with very fine illuminated reticule - wow! Evening bunny shooting has never been so good!

It is just too nice and seen too much action.
TBH I would just like a bit more mag, oh yea and fancy a new toy.
But I have got a mint Nickel 6x46 that might have to go.

Certainly wouldn't be without my illuminated ret, I use it 50% of the time, it is the S&B flashdot simple and easy to use in all lights and find it helps a lot on longer range shots to get really focused on the target,if your going to spend that sort of money on a scope you may as well have all the bells and whistles.

I do a lot of rabbit control, and added a z3 with BT to my 22. It is excellent. I am zeroed at 50mtr, and the rifle will focus and paralax from 40mtr. The BT is set for 50, 75, 100 and 120 meters and it is spot on and tested at all these. I have 2 bits of ground where shooting is from one bank, onto another and the gap is 105 meters. Off the bipod and without a strong wind i am totally confident with the BT, and really like it. It gives the wee rifle a far larger operating range and just works.
Re illumination i had it for years and never used it, and dont miss it now.
