Winter shooting gloves

I got myself a pair of Hestra mountain gloves in the sales in val d'isere - they are the only gloves that have ever kept my hands properly warm, even at the top of the Alps. They will be used in Scottish winter conditions - although would remove the left hand one just before taking a shot - left handed, and not sure if I could shoot in them.
I suffer badly from the cold (i even had the fire on yesterday). I've tried masses of different gloves and have yet to find one that works! By the end of last winter my hands were badly cracked, chaffed and used to bleed when I came in from the cold.
Ive invested in a pair of Outfox Arctic gloves for this winter. They came highly recommended from some professional stalking friends. They were expensive but if it stops a repeat of last year I will be happy!

I drop one of these in each glove...cheap, keeps your hands warm, and helps to dry wet gloves...

For sitting up in the snow I'm thinking of getting a pair of electronically heated ones from the US. Had the link for some camo non motor bike black ones but lost it.

I haven't tried the gloves, but i use one of the vests on the motorbike and it's lovely. Also bought a pair for keeping the parents warm up in the frozen north!

Excellent service too. I had a missing connector and they had one out to me free and first class the next day even though i'd bought froma shop and not the website directly. Good bunch to deal with

As a lifelong mountaineer interested in alpine and scottish winter ice climbing I have a little experience of weather sufficient to freeze the barnacles off a brass dinghy (or words to that effect!). I wear silk gloves underneath DACHSTEIN woolen mittens. The Dachsteins are amazingly thickly woven and like toast.
For my stalking I substitute thin leather shooting gloves under the mitts and then it is simple to slip off a mitt to take the shot, keeping the leather glove on.
If like me you are prone to mislaying things in the excitement of the kill just do what your mum did with your gloves when you were little - tie them together with a length of string threaded through your smock sleeves. Whilst your mates might mock, at least your hands will be warm.

I probably have ten pairs of special grade or type gloves, and I always go back to wearing fingerless Thermalite woollen gloves with an over mitten like these,

I buy a few pairs at a time and they last a year or more before they are ready for the bin.
If it's wet I wear waterproof gloves underneath them and carry a spare pair in a bag for when they get too soggy.
I worked in a chiller at -15 C for six hours at a time and I ended up wearing them all the time as the supplied ones rendered your fingers next to useless. I was the only person who didn't feel the cold.

Similar to this poster, I have a pair of Polartec fleece gloves that I wear over Macwets - have found this combination to be the most effective when actively shooting. I have a pair of Pro Hunters that do well when guiding or spotting.

Sealskins are the best I've used ,although I did lose while out so need to buy another set

Bought Sealskins but not used them yet as its not cold enough.
