Muntac in Watford

Sadly involved in a RTA, but the first time I've seen any deer in the area.

So, it looks like it may be worth trying to get some local shooting after all !

I moved from Harpenden eight years ago and even then there were lots of munties about. Get yourself round the golf courses, you never know!

Herts is a pretty big county, & Ware is about 25 miles away from Watford, but if the Muntjac are that prolific, I may consider moving

Try Zeiss. They make pretty good binos.

They are there, our head offices are in croxley bussiness park and you see them quite frequently along the cannel

So have I and my eyesights crap as well but on the plus side now you have seen one you will probably see the little chaps all over the place or it could be a trade up to swarvos.

I live and shoot in Watford, there are plenty of Muntjac ..Ive seen them in watford, Bricket wood and outskirts of Hemel Hempstead many times! ... wer reasonably close to Bedfordshire and Woburn so its no surprise really given their prolific breading activities lol

The problem you might have is that there really are not many shooting permissions going spare round these parts due to a general lack of green. I had to work really really hard to get mine and even that then was mostly due to favours from friends who swung it for me .What i would say is that i had one permission where i had no idea they were there, but then after a chance sighting of one i put some two trail cams and filmed almost a dozen in a small woods on my permission within a few weeks. They are great at being inconspicuous sometimes and other times they are completely unable to stay out of your way - especially if your case.
