You are a worry mate.. that is a serious bit of verbal insanity. You are not "blessed" are you?
600 of each calibre... I wouldn't like to put my name to that!!

Have I missed something why is 600 not achievable

Beats me as well! It's all over the current 2013 HO Guidance on Firearms Licensing, (and the previous 2002 one as well), that 250 rounds of CF ammo is the usual allowance, with the proviso that homeloaders or professional users will require more:

4.8 The bulk purchase of ammunition for the purpose of economy is not acceptable as good reason for possession. Possession of 250 rounds for deer stalking, and possession of 750 rounds for vermin control should generally be regarded as reasonable (but see paragraph 4.7 and Chapter 13).

13.30 ...............Deer stalkers will normally be authorised to possess up to 250 rounds of ammunition but account should be taken of individual circumstances, for example where re-loaders are acquiring missiles or where the shooter is a professional deer stalker.

As far as I'm aware quantities of 500-600 each per cartridge/calibre overall to include complete rounds and expanding bullets/missiles are acceptable and the norm in most areas if you homeload.

depends on what type of shooting you do i had 1200 7.62 to hold and 1.000 buy. i would buy them by the can , then i was do'g a lot of mod range work and my max was 600 tracer and 500 ball in one day fired down range on a training day. do't do it as much so now got 500 762/308 ball , plus the amounts stated of exp's for stalking rifle and that will last me well 5 years. i only load 50 at a time after iv found the bullet and powder combo.

depends on what type of shooting you do

That's a given, but the quantities we are discussing are for sporting shooting/expanding. Target shooting will always attract higher quantities - HO Guide mentions quantities of 1000 rounds to 6000 rounds or even greater amounts in 'exceptional circumstances', (normally .22 but full-bore FACs can have similar amounts as you did, and I've known some with equally large CF holdings on theirs).

ive got 300 on each cf and 600 on each rimfire that reasonable i think, why would you what 600 on cf unless your target shooting ?????

why would you what 600 on cf unless your target shooting ?????

Because you will quite possibly be buying expanding bullets/missiles in minimum quantities of 100, will want a few different types or weights to either develop your homeoads or for use on different species, and then you'll have completed rounds to add in as well. It doesn't take too many variables to reach a 600 holding limit.
