Well if you're going to join the cult leader Salmond in his quest for ego driven power then you going to drink his coolade.... it's just a disaster that you're votes risk the future my children might have to live with.
Unfortunately Paul this is the reality of what these twits are wanting to happen,I really feel for those that are to young to have a say, but ultimately it's them that will actually be affected the most ,sad days ahead if it goes through fingers crossed for you that it doesn't

as a bystander to this can someone please tell me what will happen to mr salmond and the snp if the vote is no to independence. or will this rumble on with more calls for independence votes in the future ?.

One thing for sure. The no thanks team better make sure if they win that it is in fact "better together" otherwise we will be back at the polls.

"companies like Asda & John Lewis saying prices will rise...." And the YES camp response to this is what? It is simple business economics in action. Scotland becomes a foreign country with respect to the rest of the UK. Differences in legislation, taxes, time and cost involved in hauling cucumbers to Inverness make this obvious.

"The bankers can go south and the canny Scots will boycott them. Big loss to them." Big loss to the Scots that is. What you need to realise is that where the "brass plate" is, is where the corporate tax is paid. We all know that big companies have clever accountants and lawyers who reduce their tax bills to the minimum by any LEGAL means, but the fact is any tax paid will not go to the Scottish exchequer.

"The YES vandals are slashing and defacing flags and banners around here and doing the cause no good." Good stuff. Show the narrow minded Nationalist bigotry for what it is.

What continues to surprise and sadden me is that major commercial banks from Japan, Germany and the UK, captains of industry of the stature of Shell, BP, B & Q /Screwfix, most supermarkets you have ever heard of, Richard Branson of Virgin, military leaders such as former Sea Lords, Deputy CO Allied Forces Europe to name but a few are all pointing out that independence, i.e. Scotland leaving the UK and therefore becoming a foreign country to the remaining UK will be an economic cluster**** of massive proportions, yet to Alex and co they are all just scaremongering in a campaign whipped up by David Cameron and likely to be nationalised for their pains.

How can Alex and co always be right and the rest of the world wrong?

I will have to live here after next Thursday. I don't want to live in a half baked Socialist Utopia that will run out of money before the first independent Christmas.

So, so true.

I ask myself, why is it so difficult to understand?

I'm now of the opnion that dyed in the wool "YES" voters, cannot be swayed, and neither can commited"NO" voters.

I see "YES" voters as blind to the obvious. No doubt they see me in the same vein.

Be it "YES", or "NO" on Thursday, this issue has divided a nation, and it will never heal.

The vote has been causing uncertainty for the whole of the Uk - not just Scotland , causing the pound to loose value against other currency's , our allies to wonder whether we will be part of the continuing nuclear deterrent ,foreign companies considering their policy on investment in the UK etc etc , so if you or anyone else thinks that the rest of the Uk will stand idly by if the Scottish nationalists want another go in a few years time if they fail this time - think again , we , the UK ,are a democracy and since it affects us all - we will all get a say in that ,whether the SNP or anyone else with their own agenda likes it or not .

I don't tend to get involved with politics but I'll tell you this for nothing if it is a yes vote next week I will be out. By that I mean I'll sell up everything and emigrate, I have my eye on a couple of properties in Canada, I can get a transfer with work and if I can get a visa for the wife and I I'll be gone in six months!

Plently of shooting, mountain biking and snowboarding over there I'm out!

Salmond and Mackaskill are a match made in heaven, both appear to be power tripping idiots who think the Scottish public will lap up whatever bulltwang they feed them, I can only hope common sense prevails and afterwards these two muppets are banished from politics forever.

Why do some Scots believe that they are entitled to more than the rest of the UK? The SNP have been in charge of spending for a fair period of time now; if the current position is so bad, why is it the fault of Westminster and why do you want to reward the SNP?

because wev had enough **** from westminster, and the SNP have been held on a tory leash since they came to so called power and your comment only makes it worse ...ie "reward" is what you give to a kid or a dog ....you just made my mind up lol ...its a YES from me

Because they don't actually understand whats going on and comment on things they only no a little about that much is obvious these are the ones that will be the most sorry in the end the well educated who understand what will happen in the long run Will probably leave Scotland to drown in its own financial misery and rot ,there are some very good offers on the table to be had if you leave the UK and we have to bail you out (take you back) the offers Will be less than favourable as you won't have any thing of value left Because your government whoever they may be would have sold everything to try and make it work the oil being the 1st thing to go ,then fish stock land toll bridges ,Just like Blair and brown did in the south

Good luck my friend, you'll need it.

I got the impression that you had made your mind up long before .

Sorry for my mistake, and I hope all goes well for you once you have shed the evil Tory yoke.

As far as I know nobody is stopping anybody voting, this isn't Zimbabwe...yet.
There are quite a few folk not keen on speaking out though,or haven't you been following the thread.

There are parts of cities where folk just don't vote. All they have to do is put an x on a paper, how hard could it be. Still, they don't bother.
The Yes folk are going into these area big time..fine but the areas seem to be a bit no-go for No campaigners...hmmm.

The Yes folk seem to be organising taxis, cars minibuses to these areas.
I wonder what promises they are being made.

All very cynical...it was ever so.

I'll say this though, wouldn'it be funny if these folk tip the scales into Yes.
Hilarious.

Yes or No one thing is abundantly clear whatever the outcome; it is going to be a cluster **** of epic proportions.

If its Yes we don't know what the future holds and there will be a bitter split and unquantified expense to set up everything required, if it's no there will be further devolution and ultimately another referendum will be demanded in the future - along with the rest of the UK electorate not being happy with the pantomime starting all over again and perhaps saying we want a vote.

Anyone who says it won't split or hasn't done long term damage to the nation is living in dream land, it will just take time to raise it's head one way or another in the days and years following next week. With a vote so close effectively half the population will see themselves as hard done by.

Interestingly I spoke to someone who had been a No vote but was undecided now as they saw the big business leaders etc as siding with the better together lot - maybe they are or maybe Alex Salmond is a good salesman. The boy saw it as "who are they to tell us what to vote", just what the Yes campaign want I suppose.

The sad thing is that this shamdepence would leave Scotland with LESS control over its economy than it has now. london will be in charge of all the economic levers and Scotland will have sacrificed its say on the altar of ecks vanity project.

As Andrew Gilligan points out today, the other lie is that Scotland has no say in who governs; the reality is that the last 3 out of 4 governments are what Scotland voted for.

so why don't you leave just now if it's so good???

I know folk who are saying the same as the poster you address the above to,namely that they will leave Scotland if it's Yes.
They say they live here 'cos they love the country and are happy with it As it Is but they won't stake their future and their Family's future on wee eck's New Free Scotland.
