Plantar fasciitis - any suggestions

When I I had PF as I said previously acupuncture helped the most, the lady that gave me the treatment a lovely Chinese lady i had been to previously said that a lot of it was linked to achiles tightness.
Because I walked wrong for quiet some time with the PF I ended up with other foot problems and after much investigation it was shown on MRI that I had detached legiments on the outer edge of my foot which required surgery from a injury 40 years previously. I declined the surgery as things are ok ish.
Prior to getting PF I had always worn dealer safety boots or Wellingtons when at work or play out doors. After wearing higher lace up boots for better support I had my problems, now if this had an effect by constraining my achiles or not I don't know but I do know I haven't worn them now for several years and have no PF foot problems.

Our industry Dr delta with it a lot he told me wearing wellys every day was in his opinion the biggest concern, gel insoles helped me plus our physio on site helped ,I've since always bought good quality footwear

I had PF a few years ago. I think it was brought on by ON running shoes. I used to do a lot of triathlons up to Ironman distance and once I switched shoes to saucony, used a tennis ball for rolling etc. it went away.

Once it had gone I started wearing barefoot shoes all the time which are much better for your feet. I don't run in these shoes btw.

I can’t seem to get rid of the pain in my heel, tried the stretching, massaging, special pf insoles and it’s still painful - bareable just really annoying! Any one got any tips have to alleviate/get rid of the pain? Just thought it would be good to maybe get advice from a stalker who has experienced this issue….Facebook everyone is trying to flog you something when you ask!
Only just seen this post. I had the same problem. I carried on for a few weeks struggling. Tried insoles even had some made. But the only thing that worked was a deep tissue massage. Or a foot specialist. She worked on my foot for about 30 mins. Yes if its done correctly it will bloody hurt. Thats because everything is so tight. But I can honestly say I had 2 sessions I dont have anymore discomfort or pain. And it has not returned. I do continue to wear insoles as its a good support to the arch of your foot.

I ditched my wellies, they were decent ones and now stick with boots, decent insoles and did get some treatment at a private physio which included a treatment like a tens machine, that did help.

Mines cleared up after months of physio and different shoes/soles. I also think walking on our quarry tiled floor in just socks didn't help. Once I started using slippers I did notice an improvement, cold floors.

Try something with a bit of support - I can’t walk on hard floors in bare feet otherwise I bring mine on in about 20 mins! I wear birkenstocks around the house and makes a massive different.

Agree decent insoles and stay off cold floors if bare foot. Got one of the revitive machines which tingles your feet, worked for me, took some ankle pain too.

Can be a bit of an enigma from a treatment perspective. Also, just because the pain resolves does not necessarily mean that the treatment was the reason. Pretty much all the bases have been covered in this but I would add that I see a lot of foot and ankle patients and any hind foot pain is often described as PF in referral but often are something different. Good luck, it can be very debilitating.

Is that the same one as Victor Meldrew's?

have you considered just toughing it out , like a man ?

took me a year for it to go , mornings were the worst but generally ok if i kept moving

Having flash backs to my months of pain.
I agree with most of the above but Decathalon do a hard black plastic ball with ridges on it and never wear flat shoes/boots again.

Hurts, but way more effective in my case than smooth balls.
Fit flops do leather clogs I wear around house with great arch support.
