1000 yard target lead free calibre?

Hi,
I was wondering on people's opinions of the best "lead free" caliber and bullet for target shooting at 1000 yards. Currently with lead I shoot 6.5 creedmoor love or hate it. It works for me. I'm looking to try different lead free bullets. But I was wondering what peoples thoughts were due to the reduction in weight and BC of non lead bullets.

Not as yet due to cost of copper bullets but its worth a bit of fun Just to see how far they can be pushed so I shall punt a box of home loads Yew tree to Sweet lamb ranges in wales next time I go . This should get there lol

Interested to hear if folk, think there will be a better choice than 6.5 creedmoor for target shooting at 1000 yards with lead free bullets.

A friend has the 6.5 prc and thinks the increased FPS will be enough to have higher lead free BC bullet!
But my thoughts are also about recoil, currently I'm more accurate than him with lead 6.5 creedmoor.

I’ve tried yew tree114 TLR to 900 y with my 6.5 Creedmoor to confirm DOP. From memory think that was going subsonic at around 800y. Still kept it on an 8” gong.

I would definitely give the yew tree a bash .

I was using 108eldm in my 6x47 lapua but the 80gr TLR'S considerably beat them in both wind and elevation .

They actually beat my last barrel which was a 284 Winchester with 162 eldm's massively for elevation but also match it for wind drift in a 10mph wind out to 700 yards.

After that the 162's marginally beat the 80's for wind .

I am so impressed with the yew tree ballistically I was going to have another 284 Winchester barrel done purely to use the 130 tlr's

Yew tree are incredibly easy to get an accurate load for fairly quickly, in fact Richards data will have you just about bang on.
I can vouch for their accuracy first hand , as a target bullet they are up there with the best lead, if not better.

Im just not fully sold on frangible bullets for live quarry, just yet, but they are unbelievably accurate...

Peregrine have been placing in the top five in the King Of Two Miles in recent years.
The Glider/Rangemaster is a proven, target bullet specifically designed for ELR shooting
(Not 6.5s though…. 30cal minimum, lots of good results with 300PRC and 300Norma even at that range.

You will need a faster twist to stabilise the heavier 125gr 6.5mm ideally a 1:7” - 1:7.5”

I would want to be using the heaviest option
Trajectory is simple maths
Wind is your enemy

The 7mm upwards would be my choice

If I wanted to shoot 1000 yards, I wouldn’t change bullet I’ll just shoot 1000 yards see what happens I’m not anally retarded about it
