22-250 copper bullets

I have used Hornady ecx 50 grain and Barnes TTSX 50 Grain . ECX shot very accurate TTSX was ok both where through 1-12 twist .223 . Obviously a 22-250 could send them faster and that would help . I found the TTSX less accurate and not great at longer ranges , ECX very accurate ( rabbit head shots at 200 was easy enough ) I have had them both on CWD and recommend keeping the range to more like 100 and go for the better placement ( i will in future) I lost one to a boundary issue fairly close and had one run around like it wasn't hit for too long for my liking till another shot dropped it . 22-250 with TTSX with a fast twist i suspect would be very much better . Twist rate will depend on how you find things , i plan to re-barrel to 1-8 and likely Ackerly the .223 perhaps ?

Tikka has done some specials with a 1:8" barrel but I'm sure that it would be easier to get a custom barrel fitted.
Yes it's a catalog item, Varmint Hunter (wood stock). I have confirmation from Sako that you can get it, but here in Finland it's factory order and 12 months (with some uncertainty).

The following is my speculation: from factory point of view, 1-8" barrel blanks are available (used for 223) and it's only a problem of getting rid of existing stock of 1-14" barrels (use for 222) and making a reasonable sized run. 22-250 is marginal chambering in Finland, I don't know what kind of amount would you need to order (as importer in UK etc.) to get them in any configuration you want (barrel length and profile, muzzle thread, choice of stock etc).
