243 fazination???

I totaly agree

Perhaps we could put it in with the other posts like "If you don't drive a 6ltr V8 your a obviously a girl" and "if you dont crave ownership of a 50cal your probably gay"

It would fit right in :D

Can't help wondering what Sigmund Freud would make of those in possession of a pipsqueak .22 Hornet!

Two schools of thought as far as I can see, if shooting a large rifle is compensating for being poorly endowed then you are hung like a bull elephant.

The second is that as calibre size decreases manliness diminishes. I think that would put .22 hornet at the "Dame Edna Everage." Level... Chook.

Lets not talk Freud unless we want to get into the "Minna" question and the expression "the truth shall set you free".

Anyway, if your "big" gun is a 300 WM perhaps there is some truth to "little wonker, big gun" concept. But if your big one is something like a 416 Rigby and you can handle it perhaps you have traversed the valley of pink panties and are now moving back up the manliness mountain.

Yeah I've got enough of that in me head without reading it on here too.
Shut up Jim they're on to us.
Go away I don't need you
Buy a .243
Leave me alone!

I was in Walmart last night looking for a case for my daughter's bow so she could take it on the school bus when I found myself at the gun showcase. They had about 20 guns in the case and I spotted a couple of short bolt action rifles. On Closer inspection they were youth models in 243. They were also the only guns they had in 243. The full length guns were 270's 7mm's and 30 calibers. Guy behind the counter told me there is little call for a 243. Bears out the concept of the 243 being a kids' cartridge...:D

Its like Bill Murray meets Tom Cruise.....

"Coming soon to a theater near you...... a newsreporter and an army major ....trapped in a never ending nightmare discussing 6mm calibres......."

Punxsutawney Phil.....save us!!!!!!!

Oh...sorry he cant....someone blatted him with a .243........

Glory be, I see the light.

So if anyone's willing to donate to the Mungo Sees The Light Fund, I'm ready to admit the error of my ways and embrace the true way.

I just need £700 to rebarrel my lovely Sako 75 from .243 to 7mm08...

Ps...I was in ASDA the other day and I didnt see one .243 in the bakery, fresh fruit & veg section or in the new Spring Collection.....

Probably true!

The kids in the US don't visit the bakery much. Most get their bread from the market so only the old women shop in those places. I have never figured out why they refer to cut down / reduced caliberguns as youth guns when they are often seen in the hands of inexperiened women.
