So I know there is alot of info on different powders for the .243 but I wanna know what powders you guys use from people who actually reload .243,,,,,, very very new to reloading so more explanation the better hahaha

Make sure you know your rifles twist rate before buying powders and projectiles. heavier bullets do not like to stabilize with slower twist ratios. If you get reputable on line apps like hornady and vhitavouri for example they are quite a bit cheaper than buying books and they are updated regularly.

If you are shooting foxes or smaller deer you will likely go for a lighter bullet (e.g. 75 grain) if shooting larger species (Red/fallow/sika) you may want to be up in the heavier bullet weights (100gr)

Both can be loaded with Vhitavouri powder, likely N160 would work.

Buy yourself a reloading manual first before starting as this will cover all the basics of how far you need to fall down the rabbit hole.

A Lee handloader is a good way to dip a toe in the water without spending hundreds.

also consider what your rifle likes, what factory ammo are you using with best results? Start with that bullet weight and type. That will then help decide which powder to use and is available to buy.

Properly committing a sin but I'm shooting PPU at moment cos there the cheapest at £2 a round lol

Viht n160 works for me, but I do find it to be a little bit dirty u til your in the higher end of charges, beautifully clean in my current load but it’s 0.2 grains over book max.
