.270 Copper

I've made a satisfactory-on-paper load with Nosler E-Tip 130gr - but haven't actually had to use them, as the places I go have not banned lead yet.

Home rolled or factory
Taken lots with home loaded 130 fox classic very good blood loss most dropped to the shot

I had GMX's doing some very strange things on reds north of the border.
The E tips are the best of the bunch for me, but truth be told, I'm not a fan of any of em.

110g TTSX

Think you can still get sako factory with this option but I've heard the line is being dropped. But don't take that as gospel.
Yes used the 110g TTSX and the 130g TSX and the lighter tipped worked better. I found the 130's pencilled the early roe kids if bullet slipped between ribs. Good work for the dog though.

SAKO power head II (TTSX blue tips) in 110gn - if you can get hold of it
OR
Barnes VOR-TX (same head as above round, but slightly dearer.

Have tried the blades, I preferred either of the above.

Sorry, it was factory ammunition

The new Hornady CX is the best of the bunch across the board, have seen results of their factory 270, 7mm08 and 7mm Rem Mag ammo. Good consistency and usually the cheapest option too!

Having shot several hundred deer with the Sako Powerhead II 270 factory ammo, I could not reccomend it. Severely overpriced and inconsistent results, not to mention supply problems.

Make sure you get the same lot of ammution as Sako changed cases at some stage (headstamp noticeably different), point and the point of impact difference was over 2.5" vertical shift. Not happy with their bullet seating consistentcy or charge weight variation either.

@Game & Country carries good stock of factory ammo.

I use the .270 blade personally and can't complain with it. It's been excellent in my rifle. We still hold a good stock of the 110ttsx if anyone is looking. Got a couple of customers using Hornady CX who seem impressed with them. Not going to make the switch myself as if it's not broken....

Sako POWERHEADS in 130Grain work well for me. I tried the lighter 110 stuff but the heavier bullet gives a near guarantee of a pass through from any reasonable angle.

I use 130grn Fox classic home loads on fallow not reds with good results. Changed from Nosler 130grn BT.
I think Fox classics are available as factory loads from Edinburgh rifles.

We do a 130gr Fox Classic and a 125gr Peregrine VLR4 both in Proofed Factory form
In use by various agencies and estates

TTSX is a polar review product. Some love it, some hate it.
Same with CX(GMX)
Sako Blade is getting better long term reviews than the Powerhead 2 with the TTSX

Sorry, it was factory ammunition
Have you ever thought about starting to reload? I was in exactly the same position a few months ago and decided to learn how to reload, which I really enjoy. This was all so that I had easy access to copper ammunition in general and Yew Tree bullets in particular. Although I am probably a bit out of pocket at the moment I have no regrets.

I use the sako blade 120 grain, I find they work really well and have good results in fallow and roe so far.

If only I could find what powder sako use, I would reload the exact same bullet as they perform very well in my rifle and they seem to have shot up in price.. maybe due to newly designed shiny box they come in 🤪
