Rubbish. My 338LM is for Deer and AOLQ, as is my mates who's just got his conditioned for deer and AOLQ too, and I know of two users in Devon and Cornwall with 338LM for field use.

To the user's of the 300 rum. I have the opportunity to purchase a nice semi custom 300 Rum. It is fitted with a brake but I would rather swap that out for a mod. My question is, what's the recoil like? I know it's easy to give the macho answer but please answer honestly. I have had numerous 300 win mags and 7mm Rem mags but what is this beast like?
The recoil is significant, more than my .416. I have been shooting my .300 RUM with a muzzle brake on, which manages the recoil well, but is violent on the ears! With a moderator the Ultramag is a pussycat !
Ive just bought a Custom 300 Rum. Bought of Chris Blackburn at UKgunworks nice bit of kit, Had my eye on it for a while. Just need a scope and moderator before I try her out. Chrisc, your fairly local to me. Be good to have a chat about loads for the 300 rum etc.
Yesterday afternoon the Trading Post had a like-new Remington 700 in 300RUM with a low-end Vortex scope on board for a whopping $500 US. When I inquired, they had no new brass, but did have 12 once fired casings and a box of Remington factory ammo. This is what I got when I went looking at one of our larger suppliers. On the Remington ad the one part that didn't turn up on the paste was that "No Back-orders Accepted", which means they don't expect it any time soon.~Muir
