3d printed DIY quad sticks

A small update since I'm taking a bit longer to get everything done.
  • Quad stick kits are most all printed so are about a week away from completion.
  • I've sent out 3d models to most folks who have asked - a bit of politeness and common courtesy always helps when communicating with me.
  • 5th leg kit design in progress.
  • Tikka T3 swept bolt handle design 90% complete.
I have a lot on the go and haven't been out stalking as much as I'd like so hope to correct the balance soon.

Many thanks takbok, printing finished and assembly done. Excuse the colours, it’s what we had on hand 😂. Have shoulder screws ordered but M5 x 20 Philips head are doing the job for now ($2.54 au for 10 screws and nuts). Pleased to say the first shot over them nailed a rabbit at 130m - I wouldn’t have done that offhand! They work extremely well. I saw some mention of a fifth leg, how does this work? Thanks again, Bill.

Thanks @Flash G 74 that's a good point re rear yoke. Will evaluate!
Support the idea of a rear yoke that will stop the rifle from falling sideways off the sticks if not being held. Admittedly I set my rifles’ front sling swivel in front of the front rest and the rear yoke in front of the rear sling swivel so the rifle is stable front to rear. Of course not everyone might have sling swivels fitted I understand but if the rifle is stable it would free up another hand for maybe binoculars or reloading etc

The only thing that stopped me from doing this is that it would be a hindrance to leveling a rifle when shooting sideways from a slope.

It's easy to modify the rear v part though - so will see what I can do when I find some time.

Fair comment Rory, makes sense for those conditions. Pretty flat country where I am so hadn’t considered that. They do a fantastic job as is, love everything about them. Cheers

A lovey package arrived this morning, what a cracking addition to the pauper-sticks , easily fitted and now rattle free. Not that they rattled a lot anyway😂

This set is my client stick set my set I have camo tape on so the only addition that I’m going to do is a couple of terms of electrical type where eclipse so my camo tape doesn’t get ripped up. I’ll post a picture of that bugger as well once I’ve done it.

First class service from @takbok you’re a gentleman🙏

Very few go the extra mile (not km as Rory works in metric Lee 🫣 )
Nice touch those clips.

@Nimrod1960 here's a link the the tubes (2m lengths of 14mm OD x 12mm ID tube):

Katana composites on ebay is slightly cheaper if you buy the shorter lengths for the takedown version.

Do you know if anybody has gone with Ali tube ?
My knees are shot and I rely on sticks as a third leg.
I have also replaced one of the bolts on each yoke on my bushwares with a ball release pin so they can be split into two walking poles for steadiness when carrying a full roe sack.

You should be able to use 14mm aluminium tube for the carbon fibre quad stick kits.

Someone has also used these 16mm tubes with a standard kit:
