That is true..but I tend to employ the Red Indian Method of "Stay Still See Much"...hardly ever fails in the right areas !
You don't hunt with red Indians much!~Muir

600yds is a doodle, Really??? perhaps you should get yourself down to Bisley for some of the big F or F/TR Class meets and show us all how much of a doddle 4/5&6 are!
,with the set up rpa 6mm br got is awesome machine, probably capable of 1 mile accuracy. I think you need to take a reality check and do some more research. A mile = 1,500 metres.. about 500m farther than a 6mm BR would be realistically accurate to with a VLD projectile... at 1,500 it would be harrassing fire only, you certainly wouldn't be able to guarantee any real, repeatable accuracy and any wind whatsoever woud have a huge impact on POI. At that range you are into the realm of the .338LM or one of the .30 cal magnums. Whilst the 6mm BR is a cracking medium to long range target round, a mile shooter it ain't!
had a rem mag for years. Fantastic weapon/cartridge.Any users on the Forum...good and bad info about the calibre would be greatly appreciated...I am wishing to use it for long range reds on the hill, and in the West...ranges 300yds +...Many Thanks, Tony
WOW! so many Viperous comments from those that are so intransigent that its either their way or the highway.
What gets right up my nose is that its ok to shoot foxes, crows, rabbits at any range but mention deer and it its a hanging offence!
We also go on about shooting out of season but have no concsience when it comes to shooting any other prey species out of season.
Yet the vast majority of us have calibers and scopes that far exceed their needs let alone their capabilities, in reality, if we only shot at the distances we say we shoot at then a 30/30 with open sights would suffice.
My experience is that the vast majority of so called stalkers couldn't string a good group together if they had all year, and yet these are the very people who think they can judge others.
Not sure which member it was but they had kept a record of all the shooting tests they had witnessed and the results were abyssmal, over 1000 I think!
I too have witnessed first hand a similar number and the first thing that springs to mind is "all the gear and no idea" some of these muppets couldn't string a good group together if you gave them all year, wouldn't trust them with a catapult let alone a firearms, and yet they feel no shame in saying what you should or should not be doing.
Get your own house in order before you comment on anybody elses.
Just a bunch of hippocrites.
PS forgot to add I also have a 7mm Rem mag and use it for what it was intended!!
News Of The World, well said! Oh and as for Vipa's comment about my 6mm BR set up, where did you get that from? I have'nt shot a BR for probably 12 months. I now shoot a full custom 30" Bartlein barrelled 7mm Rem Mag so whist you are telling Swarovski to take a reality check why dont you take the time to learn your own facts?

Where on earth did I mention your set up??? Ahhh right... I've seen it now, I read it as 'with a 6mm br set up'... your fault for confusing me with your forum name (doesn't take much!)![]()
Sorry Swaorvski.... you are forgiven![]()
VIPa,I have a 25-06 and have it loaded with 85gr nos bal tips,I've shot 1.5 inch 3 shoot groups with it at 400yds,my last visit to bisley I loaded up some 100gr SMks to try for the crack at 600yds,I knew they would be pretty good coz I've shot half inch groups with them at 200yds,they were awesome at 600yds,they would shoot into 4 inches using sand bag under the butt using br pod.
at 1,000?My 695 tikka 30-06 was even better, about a year ago I put 7 shots out of 12 inside a 12 inch scoring ring with 8 moa windage in at 1000yds,best accuracy I've seen so far at 1000yds is from a 260 a ackley improved, sub 6 inch groups consistently,I've shoot into 6 inches several times and had v bulls but not quite as consistently
at 1,000?
I know the britsh record holder @ 1000yards and he uses a 7mmwsm.
You sound suprised?
