A Bad Experience at Mallard Barn

i didnt actually say not to post a negative ,the thing i am against is posts that start with no actual facts or varifacation the recent post we still have actually had no introduction so this could be a totally made up story but everyone wants to cause grief, there should be some sort of process of actually discussing whats gone wrong with client / outfitter and if that breaks down talk to admin about putting a post up . that way it is factual and not a grudge . look at the posts involved now a few people want all sorts of rubbish to varify how good someone is at taking guys out when in reality its not difficult to actually talk to someone and get what you are looking for . me personally want my stalking to be difficult in hard going terrain with deer that are switched on to being shot that way when i actually get mine i have worked for it . i turned down a medal head last year as he wasnt in his colours he had just shed and was still white antler and it wasnt a great stalk so didnt take the shot i chose to move on and take another buck i have met some fantastic people on sd and wouldnt have had the oppertunities if it wast for the guys off here but if people keep moaning and having sour grapes things will end up alot worse as people will stop posting. atb wayne

I'm struggling with your take on this. I do agree that there are some great people on the forum. I've been fortunate to meet several so far, and hope to meet many more in the future.

But are you REALLY suggesting that a post in the "introductions" forum would give any more credibility to the OP in this scenario ? Do you actually go and check out each new members introduction ? Is it likely that someone who's generally prone to lying, will be more truthful if they post an introduction first, or just assume that the introduction will be the truth in the first place ?

You seem to think everyone is out to cause grief on the forum, you don't like the idea that people want to confirm they are making a good choice when choosing to pay for a service ? and you seem to think that people will stop posting because of this ? Personally, I think the only people who will stop posting, are those who are shown not to be worthy of our trust, and who do a disappearing act, rather than face the music, and put things right. I say good riddance !!!

It would be great to have some sort of intermediary to sort out these situations, but it's unrealistic to expect the site owners to do this, and does come back to the same thing, good companies don't need it, and bad companies don't care.

Simple really guys,

Just ask around. It's easy for a disgruntled client, ex-field operator, or any other band-wagon riders & axe-grinders to attempt to discredit good companies with one malicious post, without really finding out the facts.

But the true professionals will always succeed as few serious stalkers will be swayed by what are obviously posts designed to discredit those who operate commercial stalking enterprises, training, or other services by which they make a living.

12'000+ views of a negative post are not always a bad thing. Take the last 'online attack' against Jelen for instance. The OP made a threat, without contacting the decision makers. To this date I am still waiting for the client to contact me to discuss what the real problem is, and to seek a solution through our clearly set out complaints procedure. Will he eventually get in touch? Who knows!!

But inadvertently the band wagoners have thankfully provided both Jelen and Mallard Barn with unprecedented exposure. I thank you for that! The number of emails I have come home to, and the many PM's I have received have given me one to one contact with many people who normally we wouldn't have reached.

Hopefully Mallard Barn will have received the same sort of things.

ASK AROUND, and read the threads and you will see that in all our years of operation we have had only one serious complaint - only days ago, and the OP has not yet had the professional courtesy to contact me directly to discuss a solution. The thread has actually gained us a lot of respect from professionals, and from a great many clients -more that I ever imagined.

The reason? We haven't resorted to the petty small-minded ness of the band wagoners. Whilst we have waited and watched, the band wagoners have provided our company with one of the finest marketing strategies imaginable. Thanks for that everyone who contributed.

And finally to the ex-Field Operator who couldn't get his own way and work as part of our team, and the disgruntled sniper who went on the attack simply because he couldn't be part of our Live Capture Team, and those who see fit to criticise our training courses, without even bothering to find out about them .............. GET OVER IT!

this is why i said in my earlier post it is very wrong. I think that these posts will ruin the sd because in the last month there has been no end of comments complaining and instead of educating people into giving good stalking the reverse will happen and people will stop trying to help others out for fear of being dissed and slated already comments are being said of not advetising stalking leases and renewing trade membership . every trader on here i would think would if something has gone wrong sort it out because they are honest people and i would also think that it would be done face to face ,the only thing i see with bad posts is to cause agro and start trouble sit back and watch the fireworks while everybody jumps on a bandwagon ,atb wayne

Well said, surely these sort of grievances should be dealt with by private discussion with the stalking provider and if this fails, with trading standards. I think that we are still awaiting the OP telling us about all the wonderful stalking that he has done elsewhere and actually making a positive contribution to the site! atb Tim
