It is very close to sharp and so sharpen'able, I'm just not doing it, gives the option.A thought. Why is top of knife for say 2 inches from tip not also sharpened FB hybrid?
Thanks for that. The Micarta version weighs in at 260g, the G10 at 280g and just for the sake of curiosity the 3D printed SLS Nylon at 250g.
The sheath another 100g.

No worries, the steel is 5mm thick and the blade around 150mm overall.Hey, those are looking really nice. Personally not a fan of serrations on a working knife, BUT I imagine the end users had a set of tasks they were trying to address with the design. Would be interested to know some specifications if you are able to share. My initial thought was the blade was a bit long, but seeing it in the sheath, I think I was overestimating the blade length from looking at the first few photos. Guessing the steel is about 4mm thick?
Thanks mate. 5mm is pretty thick, but I imagine a fair bit gets ground out with the bevels, and a thick spine would help with prying or heavy chopping tasks. The way the tip joins into the thickest part of the steel would make it very strong too.No worries, the steel is 5mm thick and the blade around 150mm overall.
No problem, it isn't a prybar but retaining a bit of strength for that potential usage was a consideration, it is a knife after all though so I needed to make sure it cut well too. Thanks mate. 5mm is pretty thick, but I imagine a fair bit gets ground out with the bevels, and a thick spine would help with prying or heavy chopping tasks. Me, decide on the orientation of the logo? Nope, that wasn't me, that is the way they go!Very nice but a tad impractical for my uses. Out of interest what made you decide on the orientation of the blade logo. Ie, read from holder orientation rather than looking up the blade?

Every day is a learning day!Me, decide on the orientation of the logo? Nope, that wasn't me, that is the way they go!
That is the traditional, time-honoured, Sheffield way. The side you see the mark on is actually called the mark side, the other side is the pile side, if you are placing your mark lengthways it is read L to R, look at that side of the blade, if at 90 degrees it is read by the holder, in their right hand, blade pointed up.
You'll see a few UK based kitchen/chefs knife makers place their marks on the pile side, influenced by Japan, that is the Japanese way.
