I think I’ve been scammed
I’ve been messaged about a wanted ad I’ve got listed
The members has next to no posts but a member for 4 years, but to he cautious I asked for proof of ID and he sent a photo of his drivers licence. I paid for the item at the weekend and have been asking when it’s been posted via WhatsApp
Monday, it’ll be posted first thing Tuesday morning
Wednesday, he was on the way to the post office
No confirmation of posting and how I can’t access his profile on SD
I might be surprised and the item turns up but it looks like a call soon to the police might be in order

Yep I’ve messaged Admin
I hope I’m being paranoid but something smells fishy

I seemed legit at the weekend
Various photos of the item
Drivers licence
But why be so cagey if you’ve posted it or not
And not answer my calls

Q1, how do you know it's his driving licence?

Father in law got caught in a boiler room scam a few years ago, lost a fair bit money, when I tried to dissuade him from futher involvement he insisted the scammed had sent him a copy of his passport as ID. As this was a telephone scam how can you be sure🤷

Why not say who it is, id bet most people on here are known by someone else. If he isnt trying to scam then he will be embarresed and post it

This was done on here , then on phone app .

Presumably he gave his name for the bank account and your banking app checked that this matches the official record? Alongside “live” photographs of the item (can you send me a picture from X angle please?), a test transfer of £1 there and back, then a picture of their driver’s license then it should be pretty robust for small values of money (<£500). Above this I would get skittish as losing that amount would have an impact upon my yearly finances.

How about driving license. passport and photo showing similar location to his address

IF you have been scammed post the sellers name etc so they can be avoided by other members and ask admin to remove them from the forum ,i find that royal mail are very bad at delivering so my not be the sellers fault . good luck i hope it gets sorted for you.

Wanted adds are the MO of scammers. We had a huge issue with them on ukv. We had to hide the wanted page from new members.

It might be worth doing the same on here. Although I note the Op stating this was a 4 year old account. It could be the perp has managed to access the account. Members really need to activate the two factor identification check that Alex has created to protect everyone.

I just hope the op hasn’t lost too much. I thought I had been “had” buying a stock from Ireland. But I’m happy to say it’s arrived.
