Have a Hungarian S&B bought 2nd hand with rifle in 2015 really like it. Then shot all over the place did speak to S&B but would cost me lots to deal with them.
Did find a guy in Sussex whom I posted scope to got it back but not right. Did not contact him again . Put in cupboard and parked it . Now want to try again ?

Advice and recommendation please I am in Hampshire

Sadly your only option aside from S&B is the bin.

They might refuse repair if it's been tinkered with.

This is why second hand S&B's are a false economy.

Surely it should only cost postage. They have a 30 year warranty.

My 1999 Schmidt and bender PM11 is going to cost €350 for a service. As it’s a PM line it isn’t covered under the same warranty unfortunately. But still has significant value so will be worth while for me to send.

S&B 20 year warranty is only for part availability. Actual warranty is something like 10 years.

Mine started throwing bullets all over the place about 10 years ago, turned out it was something to do with springs on the reticle (or whatever). Had to post back to s&b, my main issue was that it was away for months, probably about 6 of them!
Apart from that, scope was fixed.

This. Alot of People dont realise this. Most of the top brands have this or a slight variation. Not sure if Meopta still has 30 yrs. Otherwise Leupold and Vortex have lifetime guarantees.

Meopta still have 30 years as long as you register it with them from new. I did it last year. If you don’t register it, I think you only get 10 years. All different in the states as they get life time out there.
There was a time when you only got 2 years for a PM2 but I think they are also 10 now.

Bin it, I sent a 6x42 German scope back to them after 10 years forget it, they charge you for labour and parts, I think my quote came back as around £350

Put it up for sale with the fault declared and a try another. Personally I’d say that it is rare to find a faulty S&B.

I’ll second paul Burke,
Great guy to deal with and very reasonably priced.
Meopta scope started fogging and to send it back was going to cost an arm and a leg.
He took it apart cleaned, serviced and resealed it for £60 and it only took a month.
I was being told it was going to be £150 from Meopta before parts if needed, this option was likely to take months and would be difficult to track progress.

Thanks to You All . I will give Paul Burke a call
Did that, worst thing I did! Came back with marred screws, dust inside lenses. Returned,
Came back with new or restored screws, lenses ‘almost clean’, but with the reticle central post bent…
FFS, but hey, he’s almost 90
