Aim drag bag zip failure RUBBISH

Wanted to share my experience with aim
And my dragbag 55
I bought one as I was led to believe they are the rolls Royce of gun slips which is reflected in the price but I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for and also like to buy British where possible as opposed to some of the cheaper stuff made in Asia and the likes
I’ve had my bag for about 3 years and am anal with all my kit so it’s in mint condition
And about 3 weeks ago the zips started to fail ie you close it and the zip parts away I’ll post a pic , so I contacted aim directly as I purchased it from them and thought with it being high end kit they would have some reasonable solution to repair or replace how wrong I was !
They basically told me all they are prepared to do is offer me an another bag with 20 percent discount!! I’m absolutely gutted as the bag is now useless and he said they can’t repair them or replace the zip which I find ridiculous considering they are supposed to be British made or so I thought
Absolutely shocking customer service in my opinion wish I would have purchased of Phil at Ogdens as I can 100 percent say he would have replaced the zip which is obviously faulty or an inferior cheap zip
I would strongly recommend do not wast your money on there products as you won’t get any help if it’s older than 24 months

Zip on mine failed similarly after about a year. i just put it down to yet another company producing rubbish but talking a good game. lesson learned, don't buy another and move on with life.

Tier One is a similar sort of experience for me. There are a few

Think it will need the zip replacing don’t think thimpsons have that facility I will try find someone who deal in that kind of stuff and get a real heavy duty zip put on it properly and sell it and buy one of Phil at ogdens I’m not giving aim any of my money ever again he wasn’t really interested just kept saying we have a cut of and that’s all I’m prepared to do
As I’ve said think long and hard before you part with your hard earned money at over £200 for a new slip better value elsewhere
At 3 years it shouldn’t be failing like that
And if they make them in England how hard would it be to send it to the factory and have a new zip replacement
I would hazard a guess that they’re not made in uk !!! So more crap but charged as though it is

Definitely but still leaves a bad taste in your mouth especially when you compare AIM to other British companies like Cotswold Aquarius and Ogden’s and monarch
Who are excellent!
He wasn’t even bothered which surprised me they certainly don’t deserve any reputation or the price tag complete crap 💩

I had a gun slip with the same problem and took it into a similar shop to Timson's and while they didn't replace the zip on the premises they knew where to send it and got it done for me. Being a Gun slip probably put the price up as it wasn't cheap !!

Had the same issue with some Laksen kit - complained and they sent me .......... a zip
And a harkila gun bag that cost a fair penny - they sent me ........ sorry and best wishes - the end
Poor to be honest

They are made in China the factory also produces ELITE bags at about a third of the price of AIM bags
My mate as a genuine AIM bag and I have the ELITE BAG went over them inch by inch you can not tell any difference at all.

Which would explain why he said “we can’t replace the zip” as the workshop is in China the 🔔🫣

I’ve an arktis one hung in the garage I keep meaning to speak to them about getting it repaired where the zip has trashed the lining inside.
To the OP try LSR they repair outdoor kit, tents and boots so they might be able help.

Is it just one of the two zippers that doesn't work properly ?

Have you tried the pliers trick?
As the zip looks in good nick i reckon it'll work. Basically over time being pulled, the top and bottom plate of the zipper splay slightly. If you squeeze these back together a bit with a pair of pliers it should work again.... Or it won't

Worth a try though
