Thanks for clearing that up.Re17/RS60 comes from a different source and uses very different chemical technology in order to maximise performance. As ultimate performance always carries wear and tear costs, this product can have downsides. That has no bearing on Re15/N203-B which people have happily used for a long, long time without problems or complaints.
And N203-B (truly excellent in 6BR) isnt going to imported into the UK again....Re15 is an excellent powder for 150-180gn bullets in 308 Win. It's made for Alliant by Eurenco Bofors in Sweden and is the same thing as Norma 203-B from the same source. It's a fairly mild double-based recipe, slightly slower burning than Hodgdon VarGet and Viht N140.
It has two downsides: 1) availability / price right now; 2) it's temperature affected, although in our climate you'd be unlikely to notice that unless running right on maximum hot loads. Very flexible, lots of uses, been around for a quarter century or so and a favourite of many.
Some years ago, I'd have said 'go for it if locally available', but in today's situation of shortages and price rises - and sadly things are only going to get [much] worse - I'd recommend looking at Viht N140 or Reload Swiss RS50 first as these companies are the biggest suppliers in the UK.
