I went out on the Roe last night for the first time in a while. Been off the deer since February apart from the past couple of weeks when I have just started on the Fallow again.
On the Fallow I use a 6.5x47 Lapua with a 114gr Yew Tree TLR bullet but if I'm out for primarily Roe and Muntjac I usually take the 6XC with an 80gr Yew Tree TLR. It had not been out of the cabinet for 6 months so I thought I had better check zero before I headed off.

I had forgotten just how much I enjoy this rifle. Crafted by @Ronin in a @PSE Rifle Stocks and using @Yew Tree Fieldsports best. A joy to shoot and carry. If the bullet ends up in the wrong spot it's only ever my fault and the Yew Trees have never let me down yet.
Had a lovely stalk into a 5 or 6 year old buck laying with a young doe. Took nearly an hour to get into him very slowly through game cover and half an hour about 60 yds away waiting for him to stand up so I could see him. I finally edged a little closer and they both heard me and jumped up. She took off and he ran 15 yds and made the mistake of stopping and looking back. Quick chest shot, he moved 5yds and dropped. A beautiful evening well spent. Even the pup behaved himself.

That's me on the horizon. Taken by a mate from the other side of the valley.
