Annoyed beyond words.....

I carry out the bulk of my cull myself , but when i have clients i never call a rifle or sit myself elsewhere . He may have figures to reach but thats a job of work for another day and i would say a job hes not upto if this is how he conducts himself at this stage of the season , i would never describe stalking as "brutal" . At the very least i would expect your money for this outing returned . I would award this chap an A for amature

Just to put a few points across if he paid for a stalk thats what he should have got not a cull !!! Also im worried that someone was taking shots at running deer over 200 yards !!! where the back stop changes every inch !!!!

WARN OTHERS THIS PERSON WHO CALLS HIMSELF A STALKER OR GUIDE IS NOT SAFE TO BE AROUND!!!!
Jason

Tom - are you claiming this is just BS and it's a waste of time? also, you replied on my 'neck shooting' thread that it's been done a million times and you can't believe the waste of time that is people responding to it...

..well well well - I think you should consider finding yourself a new forum mate, clearly this isn't for you, as it's just annoying you,,,and by the way, posts like that are in NO way constructive...

I had a call off the stalker tonight. He was on the attack straight away, accusing me and my friend of being responsible for his mate having to take the shot. He then went on to say that my friend was acting in an unsafe manner. My friend is an open ticket holder that I have known for years and shot with hundreds of times. I have never seen him take an unsafe shot in all of that time. Complete and utter lies. He called into question my ability to take deer even though on our last outing I put two down with clean heart shots at 150 yards and he missed his completely.

I have emailed the owner of the sporting lease to asked that my club fee for the year be returned as I cannot continue stalking due to the circumstances. I am awaiting his reply.

Until this matter is resolved I feel it inappropriate to name them in an open forum but I do see the need for people to be warned. Rock and a hard place.....

As for the comment Tom, why would I wish to lie over anything? You do not know me and yet you feel the need to have a dig at me. Strange behaviour when I came here to get other, more experienced peoples views.

but I do see the need for people to be warned.
So far you have warned us of nothing other than to be careful who we book days with. That therefore applies to everybody. It would be helpful if you told us in what geographic area to be especially careful, without having to give a 6 fig map reference.

Naming in public isn't the be all and end all and just leads to more agravation. Its interesting the alarm bells as I went on a stalk not too long ago and a few things sound similar. The guide carrying a gun was the first one, particularly bad as it kept slipping on his back and pointing directly at me. Next one being watching some fallow and being told our boundary is here but if they get any where near it then shoot as I have the right to recover them from the land and they could have run on
Personally I would write in and get your money back and then forget it move onto pastures new and forget about it. You've already had two calls from him it'll just get worse from there on.

Doesn't have to be name and shame, could just be a factual write-up of the day, including details of who the stalk was with...then it's up to people to make up their own minds...quite frankly, I'd be rather pis*ed if I accidentally booked a day with this joker, if I could have been given information that would potentially have directed me elsewhere...

Like I said a bad idea.
I would not like someone saying a location in E.yorks as I would be tarred with the same brush.
That is unfair on proper guides.
Why not pm him and keep it in house.

"Like I said a bad idea,"
It maybe bad for guides like you but it is good for punters like me. "That is unfair on proper guides"
Any professional should be able to stand up to scrutiny and not afraid of being checked out.
