The early Winchester 17HMR did have problems like the rest however once they started making it themselves it is the only ammo I've used that appears OK.

Winchester was forced to recall several production LOTs of CCI-made HMR which was one of the incentives to produce their own. In fact, IIRC, Winchester branded HMR was the first to be recalled... and maybe the last? I don't specifically recollect a recall of HMR since -all the current problems notwithstanding.~Muir
