Hi everyone, I’ve been looking at the Anschutz 1782 for a while now, just wondered what everyone’s thoughts are on the brand/product. Pros/cons etc.

Thanks

As long as you aren't looking to add aftermarket gear, it looks like a nice rifle. There are a lot of reviews on line. ~Muir

I was looking at those until someone mentioned Schultz and Larsen to me. Take a look at them before you commit to the Anschutz. There's plenty of threads on here

Try Steve Beaty at Ivythorn - he's a dealer for Anschutz and S&L, so you might be able to get your hands on examples from both manufacturers. I have an S&L Victory, which in my opinion is an excellent rifle, but I also have an Anschutz in .22LR and one in .17HMR - both are very well engineered and extremely accurate rifles.

I'm in a similar position. I had a 17HMR Anschutz 1517 which I adore for the trigger but S&L for my centrefire. I only have the classic but love it so much that I now have a barrel in a second calibre and have had the stock upgraded. Being able to see the 2 side by side would be great. Being up in Lincolnshire, that was a bit too much trek

Did you end up making a decision on what rifle to buy? I have an ANSCHÜTZ 1782 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I really like it and it’s proving out to be quite accurate. If you’re still undecided, I’d be happy to offer my input or answer any specific questions you might have.

I have three 17-series Anschutz rifles and they all shoot brilliantly. S&L are also very good rifles and certainly less expensive than the Annies!

I looked into S&L as well. I like their technical features but in the USA they don’t have a dealer network and aren’t supported. So that was a concern for me. I couldn’t really get a handle on pricing in the USA either for the same reason. Anschutz has a US presence and ordering one and importing it was very easy here. I also like the technical features of it including the embedded aluminum chassis that is hidden within the walnut stock.
