Been noticing lots of surnames on the news & other progs, matching the subject in play, this morning's, a marine biologist, surname Rudd.
Anyone else noticed other instances?

Not quite in the news, but at high school there was a girl a year or two above mine called Crystal Lear. Her middle name was Charlotte! 😂

I worked with Annie Bacon and Ollie Roll. They married but she refused to double barrel her surname, which we all thought was a massively missed opportunity!

In days of interminable chain delays on house sales Doolittle and Dalley the estate agents in Kidderminster was pretty apt.

Go back a few years and many surnames were trade based...Thatcher, Smith, Hunter, Merchant, Weaver, Miller, Fletcher, Workman, Herdman, Shepherd, Baker, and etc. bound to be a throwback to ancestral activities occasionally...Though given the celibacy lack of issue, Priest always made me wonder.

Think we had conveyancers related to that lot in Kidderminster when we sold Dad's place.
